    Hi,

prior to this, my last posts were regarding a failure to update to the latest software. I tried everything I could. MapnSoft gave me a run around. I've been out of Canada the past 5 months but did download the latest version to my USB just before I left.

As I suspected, there was nothing wrong with my USB, nothing wrong with the OS versions of my 2 PCs and 2 laptops. Everything wrong with the "old" version I tried to update to. Of course, the latest version had no issues updating.

I am done with being treated like a piece of ... The Ioniq 5 EV is being traded in for a new 2024 Tucson hybrid Ultimate. Not quite the same features as my 2022 Ioniq 5 Ultimate has but close enough. No more EVs for me.

Unfortunate you had these difficulties. Alas, no matter what type of vehicle you buy today they all have complex software running just about everything including questionable gimmicks like motorized charging port doors. Even pure ICE vehicles can be laid low by something that generated a serious error code causing a shut down. I've long believed that the simplest solution that gets the job done is the best one. KISS (keep it simple stupid) is increasingly lost in modern product and software design whether it's an automobile, washing machine or even a frigging toaster. That's my rant for the day.

Being a former Electronics Technologist and Network Specialist in IT, I know when I'm not doing something right versus actual software issues.

NATO requires all military vehicles be as simple as possible (for field repairs) and no electronic control is allowed.

I'm surprised you stuck with Hyundai. It seems much of your Ioniq 5 frustrations were with the manufacturer and dealer not helping (or even knowing how to help). I hope the new Tuscon is better than the previous versions. Their forum is full of complaints, issues, and problems. I considered the Tucson last year and decided against it due to only average reliability.
