On top of the usual myths and lies being spread all over, the latest is that infernal Consumer Reports article, "Electric Vehicles Are Less Reliable Than Conventional Cars." Here's a rebuttal and a CNN article that actually points out the obvious, implied in the CR article, that "the problems arise because electric cars are mostly new models, and recently-introduced car models generally tend to have more issues, regardless of what propels them." That detail, as far as I can tell, wasn't reported in any of what's been widely spread in the media reports on the CR report, exacerbated by a concurrent backlash from the usual directions to the idea that the US government should encourage or discourage anything in the national interest.
