2020 Kia EV EX removing the coolant cap

I checked the level on my coolant and it was just below minimum. I purchased some blue coolant and tried to put some in but could not get the coolant cap off. I did not want to apply undue force. I noticed a small man icon on the cap and it looked like he was holding a wrench. The manual is useless.

Has anyone removed it? If so....is there a trick to removing?

You have a 2020 vehicle, I would not mess with it, call your dealers service department. I've had my vehicle since 2019 and I've never looked at coolant.

  3. I think there is a latch that must be held open with a screwdriver plus it's very possibly a left-hand thread. Did you purchase the correct low-conductivity coolant from Kia?

  4. That is no doubt causing the issue;)

I had one instance with my 2019 where the coolant was low. Took it to the dealer; they put the approved stuff in. No charge, no problem since. Just putting in something blue could be a warranty issue.

Necro bump because this comes up first on google. Yes it is a left hand thread. Yes the fluid is still, as far as I can tell, Kia only. Yes it is 100 bucks a gallon[!]
