Fluke, they are still struggling to get that car out.
    I live west of there.

It might be, and it might not be a fluke. How do you know? Have you checked dealer inventory levels over a large area to see if they are indeed struggling? They are delivering a large number in Japan and the numbers in Europe look like they're ramping up quickly.

Also, what does where you live have anything to do with the topic?

You are acting like a 16 year that throws a tantrum when people contradict them.
    Common sense and facts here.
Yeah, I do know the stock situation. Kingston isn't anything special.

LOL, nice try. I'm not the one calling people names and throwing a tantrum. You've posted no common sense and no facts.

Where are you getting your facts that a small city in Canada having Leafs available is a fluke? That would be a fact that would be interesting.

I asked a couple of dealers they were doing volume yet but did have 1 on the lot for a customer......I was also given expectation time for delivery of a new vehicle, 3 months. You saw 4 cars....wow. I see a lot more cars than anyone in Kingston does and I have seen 1.

I wasn't name calling, just pointing out the maturity level you were hitting.

So do you have any facts worthy of backing up your grand conclusion other than you saw 4 Leafs? I have facts, where are yours?

4 new Leafs even if they were cranking them out would be a huge coincidence. What did you really see? 4 cars from a dealer? 4 Cars from Nissan testing stuff out?

Anyways, doesn't really matter. Does it?

Uh, yes, you were name calling. I asked for why you thought it was a fluke, and you called me an idiot.

I was originally posting about a photo of 4 2018 Leafs, so I was starting from a fact. And yes, I was inferring that if a dealership in a smaller city in Canada can get 4 of them within the first 2 or 3 months of production, that Nissan must be ramping their production fairly quickly. My main reason for this is that the Bolt and the Ioniq didn't show up at Ontario dealerships until at least 8-12 months after production started, and even then they were here in far more limited numbers. My second reason for thinking this is that they've been delivering more than 3000 per month in Japan, and are reportedly delivering large numbers this month in Europe too. If they can do that in Japan and Europe, then it's pretty likely that they can also do that with their US plant.

I'm open to my inference being wrong, but you still haven't presented any facts to say why you think it's a fluke. I actually don't know what you think is a fluke, you haven't specified. Is it that Nissan isn't pumping Leafs out or is it that the units at the dealer in Kingston are a fluke?

I just did a quick check of 6 Ontario Nissan dealers, and every one I checked had at least one 2018 Leaf in stock, with the max being 6. (Highpark Nissan)
Kingston Nissan has 2 in stock, so they've sold at least 2.

I called you an ijiot and edited right away....seemed a bit harsh but if you want to whine about it then whine on.

You just did a quick check now, not before asserting they were rolling them out. You still don't even know what you saw in Kingston, where they end users? You don't know. If those were 4 end users Leafs that would be the flukiest thing ever because there just not that many out there.

When you start seeing 4 on a regular basis then get back......or you can just stick to your conclusion that they sold one and someone can buy one (and sit on a 3 months waiting list) as rolling them out then fine. Guess what the Honda Claritys are starting to roll out too.

Hey presto, chill out dude. You seem angry over this for no reason.

I would be amazed to see 4 Leafs together in Ottawa, let alone Kingston.

I thought four LEAFs in Kingston was pretty neat. Tallahassee is a bit bigger, and I've yet to see a new LEAF. I only ever see the occasional classic version.

There were indeed 4 2018 Leafs at Kingston Nissan. I saw them when they still had the protective wrap on. Why the mudslinging over this? I hope they still have some available after the June provincial election. If the Conservatives win I would expect them to kill the electric car subsidies as they are a bit of a lightning rod for discontent. Because of the abysmal public charging situation here I intend to trade up to something with a 60kwh pack in 2020 but may end up trading sooner just to get that extra 10kwh if the subsidies are threatened.

I've recently seen 3 of them in the wild here in Ottawa in the last week or so. As well, it was reported that 423 of them sold in Canada in March, which more than doubles the previous Leaf monthly record, so they are selling pretty well.

I recently visited Kingston Nissan to try to get a handle on what I might get for my 2016 30kwh SL if traded on a 2018. There were three 2018s on the lot. One was sold and they were holding the other 2 as demonstrators. I did place a deposit on a 2018 and was told the wait would be 2 or 3 months. But with the deposit placed now, the existing Ontario incentives will still apply even if we have a change of government. (so I was told). Very mixed feelings. The 33% extra range will come in handy but I really like my "ugly bugly" old style Leaf. Take that! styling trolls.

I don't think that's gaurenteed. Placing the order doesn't mean you get the rebate if the government decided to remove it before getting your car.

I was at the dealer yesterday and the sales manager said as such. But he also said they are hoping if the government does change, they may say "all cars ordered by this date get it" but it's definitely not set in stone.

Your dealer may have been stretching the truth somewhat.
