Don't ask me how I got down this rabbit hole. https://m.cafe.naver.com/ArticleList.nhn?search.clubid=21771803&search.menuid=556 Anyone in Korea, can you join this group and translate for us?
304 Kona EV has been sold in the month of May. I put my name on the wait list. Hope, we don't repeat the Ioniq fiasco.
https://m.cafe.naver.com/allfm01/134828 Haha, I'm famous in Korea. People in Korea, write it in Korean and I'll use Google translate to translate in English. For example https://translate.google.com/m/translate#en/ko/How%20many%20Kona%20EV%20has%20Hyundai%20produced%3F 1) How many Kona EV has Hyundai produced? 현대는 얼마나 많은 Kona EV를 생산 했습니까? 2) Why doesn't Hyundai bring more EV to America market? 왜 현대는 더 많은 전기 자동차를 미국 시장에 내놓지 않습니까? 3) Does Hyundai corporation know how much markup dealers are putting on their EVs? $5000-$10,000 more than msrp 현대 자동차는 마크 업 딜러들이 EV를 얼마나 많이 보유하고 있는지 알고 있습니까? msrp보다 $ 5000- $ 10,000 이상
1. About 1,000 units are produced a month. 2. About 60 percent of the output of 1,000 units is cut for European and American exports. 3. Korea is also troubled by the delay in shipping.
I tried setting up an account on this website, but I couldn't quite figure it out before I ran out of time/patience. Technology today is pretty cool, though, as I can point my phone at the screen and Google translate can use the camera and show me English where Korean is on the screen. And, it's better at Korean than Japanese, which I have to translate a lot. Anyhow, this all looks very interesting. What I gleaned from our friend @konarius here is that Hyundai is producing 1,000 units a month and will be allocating 600 for Europe and the US. (Wonder if Canada gets any...) So, maybe the US will get 300 or so a month? Quite likely demand will far outstrip supply, so as @JyChevyVolt seems to be indicating, dealers are tacking on a hefty "market adjustment" of $5k to $10k. Ouch!
Hyundai need to add fast charging stations in Korea, if they want to compete against Tesla. Don't make the same mistake as GM, Ford, and FCA. Captive audience for one hour is advertisers dream.
Hyundai needs to send Bjorn a free Kona EV. He has sold more Ioniq EV than all of Hyundai marketing combined.
Niro EV is scheduled to be released in Korea in July and Tesla's Model 3 is not expected to be easy to sell in terms of price.
Regarding multilink suspension. Did I understand correctly that the Kona Electric has this and the gas one doesn't?
