Doesn't the battery come with an 8 year warranty? So won't babying make sure it fails after the warranty is over? I have no problem with discharging it to near 0 and charging it to 97%, I don't do 100 because at 100% it will turn the engine on when you break
Everyone's situation is different, my main culprit is a 200 ft long fairly steep hill in my neighborhood not far from my house with a stop sign at the bottom. When I approach the hill at the speed limit the regen when I brake going down the hill can turn on ICE. What I do now is approach the hill at about half the speed limit and essentially ride the brakes all the way down to the stop sign and this avoid turning on ICE. Of course I don't do this if someone is behind me but that is very rare.
