No more annoying beeps when trunk opens

I just got the update to fix the range problem but my clueless dealer installed a control unit update by mistake. (After much effort, I finally convinced them to install the correct update which fixed the range.) A few days later, I noticed that the autolock system no longer beeps and prevents locking when the trunk is opened. The doors lock as expected even after the trunk is opened.

I think the behavior changed because of the control unit upgrade since I don't remember any of the many people who got the range fix mention this. Anyone else notice this?

What happens if you put your fob into the trunk?

Didn't try that but I assume that will still prevent the trunk from closing. I'll try it next time I use the car.

Still beeps and prevents the trunk from closing. I think that makes sense.

    That's comforting.

The beep I'd like to get rid of is the one that occurs when I pull on the left regen paddle and the ACC was on. The regen kills the ACC which certainly makes sense but my passengers ask what was the beep. I can always cancel the ACC then hit the left paddle but I wish I could just turn the feature off. It's not like I'm not paying attention. I've learned that the radar can lose sight of the car in front of me so I have to pay extra attention to the icon.
