I got the rebate because I had reserved a place in line when I ordered it back in early March. Where did you drive to Dallas from? I'm in Austin...
I was just thinking of you all today. My wife and I have really committed to having the person driving the most each day drive the MINI, and as such we are closing in on 8000 miles (pushing 100 miles or more most days). Finally have accepted the value of green mode as I swapped out the stock tires for Blizzak WS90s and the temp has dropped. Overall super happy with the purchase, and loving my ChargePoint (which gets used twice most days). Happy motoring! Sent from my iPhone using Inside EVs
Just passed 12K in a bit over 4 months. That long wait is fading into the distance in the rear view mirror. How are your cars treating you all? Sent from my iPhone using Inside EVs
Just wow. I'm at 3500 maybe in 4 months 1 day. Love it, no issues other than the one segment of ambient light LED that I haven't gotten looked at yet.
It’s nice to see some conversations again. My SE’s are both super fun and practical. My daughter has 3600 mi and I’m catching up at 2900 mi. I’d be past her, if not for the Stuck in QC thing. My wife got a Tesla Y, but I’d much rather drive my MINI. Just curious, is anyone planning on trying to get tax credit, even though the majority of us arrived after Aug 16?
No real issues for me either, although I’ve never seen the front baffles close (they seem stuck open) and the fan is really noisy when I turn the environmental controls on with the car off; should probably get that checked. The adaptive cruise isn’t as good as my 2015 Subaru legacy, but it’s acceptable. Car is a blast to drive, and I just love waking up every morning with a “full tank”! I have about 500 miles on mine. I haven’t seen the baffle closed ever. Is there a reason for it to close? I feel like I saw a thread about someone having an issue where it was loose or something. I wonder when it is supposed to close.
I'm guessing you're not a quality check club member? This thread is/was a decent size group of people whose cars were built in May last year then sat at the plant in Oxford for many weeks in 'Quality Check' (see my avatar) then finally got our cars late August/early September. We all got matching tattoos.
Darn I am not in the QC Club, I have a Bob Ross tattoo though . I recently got my car about 3 weeks ago.
I’m the outlier at 611 miles lol. I absolutely love the car! I work from home and am centrally located in the city to most of my errands, so I don’t drive a ton regardless of what car I own. I only charge the car on a standard outlet or my partner takes it to work once in a while where it can fast charge at a discount. Thinking I may not even get the level 2 charger as I don’t think it will pay for itself before we move in 7ish years. But anyways I’ve been really happy
“All you need,” he says to roar of a thousand chortling electricians thumbing through this month’s Yachting World.
I was postulating @abrandt merely had to click his ruby slippers' heels 3 times and he'd have a level-2 charger. I acknowledge that the clicking might also require help from an expensive electrical wizard with a penchant for boating.
I'm with @abrandt on this one. Although I could do all the work myself, bypassing the 2nd click of the heels on my ruby red slippers, There's still the $500 material cost to get that 240 outlet into my garage. Driving an average of 250 miles per week, I can easily get 100% charged each day even if I use the schedule to do it between 21:00 and 9:00. I do drive twice as far on Thursdays than on other days, so sometimes Friday morning sees 95-98%, but I easily catch back up to 100% on Saturday morning. Considering my cost for electricity, I can drive two years for what the upgrade would cost. If I put on the miles like @Aquavir, it would be a no-brainer. But for now, 120V will do just fine.
I thought about that as well just using 120v and public street chargers when needed but luckily my panel is in the garage so install costs will be minimal. Also 15%-100% takes around 24hours on 120v… so a little annoying
My purchase agreement (signed prior to the bill’s signing) has two spots in the fine print where it actually says “binding”, so I’m doing it. I’m also considering purchasing audit coverage from my accountant… Sent from my iPhone using Inside EVs
I've never seen mine below 50%. I try to explain to people that charging stations don't matter to me...they just can't grasp it
