I'm surprised the Office québécois de la langue française (OQLF) aka. Language Police let that one slide.

It is interesting that in France they use STOP, no? (He says in phoney Inspector Clouseau accent :))

Yes but in places like Paris, there are literally no stop signs except for the single one that kept getting stolen.

Without getting into it or getting even more off-topic, STOP is used around the world. The word ARRÊT on signs here is grammatically incorrect. In English, stop is the imperative of the verb, a command to stop; arrêt is a noun, ie “a stop.”

Europe barely has any stop signs in general. North Americans have a hard on for them because they are a cheap option to “solve” traffic problems

I wish there were more roundabouts. I guess that they take up too much space.

As if space is an issue here. I know multiple intersections that could be made into roundabouts. Problem is most don’t know how they work. We have one off island to the west and it’s pretty comical

Lots of roundabouts where I live, they do make a big difference. But yes, quite a few who don't know how to navigate them.

I wish my local T-shirt shop wasn't too chicken to put this on a shirt for me.

Omg it’s. Awful. Nobody here understands what a Yield sign means. Most ppl come to a complete stop when they don’t have to, others ignore the sign (and the proper ROW procedure). Maybe 1 in 20 cars at Vaudreuil do it right.

I'm the kind of driver that does a 1.25 loop on the inside lane to turn right during rush hour traffic.

Not a yield, but here in Florida like in many stays you can make a right turn on red AFTER A COMPLETE stop. That last part is often ignored and I am tired of people behind me honking because I actually stopped. Yet the police will ticket people for going through them without stopping.

Hey gang - great thread. It’s been fun catching up and learning about this community and your cars.

On the topic of Roundabouts they are starting to pop up here in new developments on the edge of Toronto. A great idea and fun/scary to watch people try to figure them out!

As for mods - so interesting to see folks yearning to express the EV-ness of their SEs to the world in a tasteful way. That was precisely my desire when I first got the car… But how to do this without looking overly foolish or on the nose boy racer…
I finally settled on a modified high-voltage sticker. I was originally intending on using the whole thing bright yellow triangle and all, but when I held it up to the car it just seemed a bit goofy. It was then that I discovered that the inside “lightning bolt” could be removed separately from its surroundings. And so after trying various positions on the car “ - front flanks, rear inside windows middle of the bumpers, I settled on this discreet little corner hoping it almost looked like a factory emblem next to the Cooper script. Unfortunately the yellow is a little too bright to match the insert colour of the S beside it. Also, when it finally wears out due to washing abrasion or just plain old UV, I think I will angle the next one more to right clockwise to fit better match the slant of the S.
(BTW - in this photo you can just see the other mod - a disposable LED stuck to the charge port flap. I can’t figure out for the life of me, why on a car with literally a dozen accent or mood lighting LEDs, they couldn’t have put one inside the charge port, or even positioned the flashing charge indicator so as to shine some light into that little black hole…)
