You can check the google spreadsheet in the first post of this thread to see the average how long it took for other members.
I got mine earlier this year. It took about 4 months. But I started with a production number right away. I think this thread and the spreadsheet probably helps you figure out the timeline better. Appreciate your quick response. And congrats on the delivery. I spoke to my sales associate a few days ago . He indicated that my car is scheduled to go to production in August. I failed to ask him for a production number. Not sure if he has it?
They should give you the production number. It would be on the top left side of the build sheet. Once you have that. You can track on the my garage website. You’ll learn so much about mini production and shipping and transport. I learn so much more from this forum. I am now tracking my gas countryman S. Haha. Best of luck! But do expect 4-6 months unfortunately. Especially if your car needs to go to Port Hueneme at west coast. Takes so much longer via the Panama Canal. Sent from my iPhone using Inside EVs
Oh and once you have a production number. You can ask 1-866-ask-mini and with your production number. They should be able to give you an estimate on the week your car will go into production (the week number is calendar week.. 52 weeks in a year. So then have to do the math. Or they would be nice to tell you) Sent from my iPhone using Inside EVs
Good afternoon. We have a 2023 MINI Countryman SE on order. Does this forum allow tracking of our EV on the spreadsheet, or will that effect the data negatively? Ours is made in a different factory and ships out of another port.
Good Morning /Evening to all. Just been advised that my Mini SE has been dispatched from the factory. Ordered on 6.5.2022 and finally is in the final steps to be delivered. Very informative posts about port arrivals. How can i track to see which port in Germany is assigned to my mini. I see that this thread has detailed several ports and the date the car left the port.
I might be wrong, but I think the port tracking is only for the US, even the build tracking. Here in NZ, I relied on the dealer to advised me the current status of the SE.
Hi, I have on order a 2023 SE which has left the factory and is in the port. I have referred to the google spreadsheet for guidance on the length of time it takes but unless I am missing something, trying to locate an example of a 2023 SE which was in the port and how long will it take to be assigned to a vessel? 1)-In the port (Hamburg)-Since 10.25.2022 2)-Approximate time it will take to be loaded on a tanker 3)-Time it takes to arrive in the USA (New York-East Coast) 4)-Delivered to dealer. I am getting very concerned because to take advantage of the tax credit of $7,500 in 2022 (Ordered 6.2022 so the old rules apply), must be delivered and paid for no later than 12.31.2022. No one is able to give me any guidance (Customer service-BMW or my dealer who told me hopefully by the end of Nov/22. So, any guidance would be appreciated especially for a vehicle which was in the port within the past couple of months. Thank you for your continued support.
You seem to be misinterpreting the IRA. It doesn't matter when your SE is delivered, all that matters is whether you had a "legally binding contract to purchase" in your state the day the bill was signed. If you did, then you will claim the credit on your 2022 filing, with the date of service being 8/16/2022 (even if the car arrives after December 31st, and even if you have to go back and amend your return). If you didn't, you can't claim the $7500 tax credit.
In my situation, my Mini has been at the port (Southampton) since 10/24. There have been two "K Line" ships that have been in port since this date. The Orion Highway arrived on 10/26, followed by Brooklands on 11/4. Yet my car is still at the port, and I hope that one of the next ships to arrive, Donnington on 11/21 or Hawaiian Highway on 11/23, will be the transport vessel. However, I really don't have a way of knowing. I have seen some cars on the spreadsheet only sit at the port for a few days and are loaded onto a ship, and others take over a month. So I think the spreadsheet in many ways makes the wait more difficult because it gives you the impression that there is a "typical" time for things to happen. My car has been nothing typical at all. It was scheduled for production on 8/10 and didn't actually enter into production until 10/7. I sympathize with you, but I don't have an answer.
I can't talk to the tax stuff, but mine sat at the port for roughly 3 1/2 weeks. I've seen some sit for only a few days. I think it has to do with scheduling of how many cars get 'bunched up' at the port and when the ships come in. It only takes about a day to load up a ship. If you know what ship it's on, then you can track that from the links in the first post. You can look at schedules for one of the carriers here: https://www.walleniuswilhelmsen.com/schedules Generally takes 10-14 days depending on the route. From the tracking spreadsheet it looks like it takes maybe a week or so to get from the American port to the dealer.
My car went from "arrived at the port" to at "in transit" and now back to "arrived at the port". I am assuming that means it arrived the US port and not back at the port in England. Maybe it got to our shores decided it didn't like what it saw or maybe was homesick :^)
MINI couldn't afford extra dots on their My Garage line-graph to indicate both the departure and arrival ports.
My car is in Montreal at Hansens yard I searched just for fun using their tracking with the Vin and dealer Postal Code. Sure enough…. If you are expecting your SE soon punch in the vin. I had gut feeling it arrived on Asian Captain last week https://www.lhf.com/vehicle-tracking Edit this was the thread I wanted to post the news in!
same for me! It was delivered to the dealership this morning (the original expected date was the 10th) Extra tip for anyone using the same tracking tool: I could not track my car using the dealer postal code, for whatever reason, it would always give me "Invalid Tracking". This page doesn't allow you to submit the form with only the VIN, but it loads an iframe that points to https://lhf.cargotel.com/open/lhftrack.mcgi?vin=YOURVINHERE&postal_code=H0H0H0 I discovered that if you open this URL directly in a new tab, you can remove the postal_code query parameter and it just works with the VIN: https://lhf.cargotel.com/open/lhftrack.mcgi?vin=YOURVINHERE This seems like a minor security issue that we can take advantage of while it lasts. Enjoy! By the way, @MrSnrub, I noticed that our VINs are only 63 sequential numbers apart (from that old post of yours). Same production date. Maybe the closest MINIs in Montreal. I hope we meet on the road soon!
