North Poll aka Canada ;): Clarity delivery ETA wait times

Spoke with my dealer today morning. No Updates.

On the bright side, saw a clarity on the road in north york. my second sighting.

 

It was a demo from that Honda Canada drive center.

 

The ones in the plug n drive center are both tourings.

The vin numbers are ending with 400 and 408

 

Spoke with my dealer this morning. They have received no info from Honda to date. They interpret that to mean about 1-2 more months. Could be longer, but unlikely to be less than another month.

Already at 2 months and a week. So by the time it does arrive I’ll be free to cancel if I want. Lol.

Got mine 2 weeks after ordering the Touring in white.

Wanted the base model, but dealer said Honda only sends Touring trim in Quebec — not sure this is true, they have a way of bending facts.

They drove it from another dealer, put 180km on it. Strange thing, the dealer sticker is from Spinelli which is 10km away from where I bought it.

Here in Canada the Clarity gets the battery heater, but we lose the power seats.

 

You were fed a line Spinelli just received a new base model VIN 525 on the weekend .

 

Sure looks like that, I asked for a base. I’ll let that simmer for a couple of days and confront them with this, try to get a freebee (winter tires) as compensation. Also suspicious car was used as a demo, not driven from a remote dealer as they claim. Nothing wrong about the car though, love it.

Didn’t get it from Spinelli.

 

I would ask for an explanation in writing on where the car came from to support the extra 180km. Ask about the base too, but it may have already been spoken for.

Just look to your bill of sale. On my bill of sale, they wrote that max km will be 90.

Check your bill before you ask for anything.

 

It’s not the mileage I’m unhappy about, it was expected as they asked before if I was ok with it. It’s that I suspect they lied as to where the car came from and led me to believe only the Touring trim could be ordered, to increase their margin. Bill shows 250km.

They also made a $400 ‘mistake‘ on the amount due on delivery which I spotted on time.

BTW, Very hard to get rebates here in Canada when demand exceeds supply.

 

They lied and cheated. Could have been the bosses wife car before she said she didn't want it or the boss made her give it back.

Go back and see if you can get a deal on the tires using this as leverage, you might have to be pesky.

If you could afford the touring trim then so be it it is nice.
Just complain to Honda Canada and go to another dealer for items.

 

called my dealer for the usual 1 week update, same response as before - no clue.

Ordered 3rd week of january - base model - GTA.

 

My dealership contacted me today to let me know that Honda Canada has announced there will be issuing an update to address all of the inquiries about outstanding Clarity orders next week.

Who knows if this announcement will be something tangible or just PR fluff.

But it is slightly better than silence.

I suspect all people who are waiting will now get etas. If you have not already, a call to the dealer may remind them to check.

 

I just text my dealer, hopefully I will hear from her soon...

4th week Jan, Base Grey, Ottawa

 

If everyone on the wait list gets ETAs soon, that means Honda is changing their ways for the better, and/or your VIN number is a big jump from the last known one to be imported (525).
