Looks like the next WW Vessel headed for Galveston is leaving Southampton on Sept 12, then another on Sept 16. Mine is at the port as well but it is headed for New York which doesn't have one leaving until Sept 21 unfortunately. Could be handled by a totally different cargo company though!
My dealer contacted me and said they have an allocate for a Sept Production slot. If I do that, what are the chances I get my car in Southern California by December?
I believe the Colorado bound MINIs usually go the West Coast route. The tracker shows many for CO arriving at Oxnard near Santa Barbara CA. Here's the route PDF for K-Line, of which the Apollon Highway belongs. I don't the K-Line serves the Pacific Coast for MINI. Someone on the West can comment on the carrier. http://www.klineglobalroro.com/schedules/1-1_europe_to_north_america_and_mexico_gulf_schedule.pdf
Extremely hard to say. They are building them swiftly right now so it seems reasonable. However if they run into chip headwinds all best are off.
Your dealer having an allocation is the golden ticket. Without that, there is little chance you could get an SE this year. However the chip shortage is working against you. Also, the increasing popularity of the SE is making it tougher to get one. Forum member @Novadar wrote " the Sales Manager told me there were 45 people in the line behind me."
My Mini is in Port as of the 6th of September, 2021 will be on the same boat going to New York/ New Jersey Port. -R
My MA just called me unsolicited to let me know that my Mini is on the Torino and will hit port on 9/21. Initially, they were able to swap with another dealer to get me a car already in production with my desired specs (including color). These guys (Mt Laurel, NJ) have been fantastic the entire time in case anybody is considering them. Sent from my iPhone using Inside EVs
Okay, now I must vent. To any BMW and MINI corporates who might read this, why is my car still at the port while a truck just showed up at the dealer with cars ordered MONTHS after mine? Arrrgh, the Chicago Cubs might win the World Series before I get my car. I could have ordered a Ford Bronco but...Okay, I'm done. I await the call!
Ours were both on the same ship and both going to Brentwood. Track My Mini says mine is at the dealership, but they said it still hasn't arrived. What does Track My Mini say for you? Maybe we'll end up accepting delivery at the same time.
The dealer called me thinking it was my car. You almost had white stripes! Sent from my iPhone using Inside EVs
Ordered my Mini SE in last week in August. Sales person “promised“ late September to late October. Production number assigned September 1. When I asked the Manager if the delivery would still make the first timeframe, he said no. December would be the earliest. I really wanted the purchase to fall into 2021 for the tax credits on the purchase and SVSE install. When I asked if just being put on a ship counted as delivery, he said no. I had to take possession of it in 2021 to qualify. So I cancelled the order (concerned about further chip shortages and COVID impacts), found an inventory item 550 miles away in a different state (had to accept a different exterior color, Enigmatic Black) but everything else was the same. Had to pay $650 transport fee but the car is being delivered to my house tomorrow. Really seamless purchase experience. If you can deal with Frankie at Sandia Mini in NM go for it. Unfortunately that was their last SE as of now…
I see parking sensors! I was really hoping the build would survive the chip shortage (beyond the HK credit).
Didn't you see the Tracking thread. Someone snapped a picture of your ride while it was still in Georgia. Just North of ATL on I-75.
