That seems like quite an unreasonable cost to replace. This guy removed the screen (from a M3) with a very simple operation, had fun doing it using basic tools, and it cost $1477.20 ($1320 for the screen and $61.50 in labor plus tax)
I bought it over the Tesla because I believe it is a better vehicle for me. While I found the Teslas to be interesting, I didn't really like the interior, in particular. It seemed too barron and plastic. It seemed to leave off buttons and knobs even when they made more sense, just for the sake of leaving them off. I saw the Mustang Premium RWD with extended battery and knew I had finally found an electric car that I felt comfortable in and had a range my wife was comfortable with.
I felt the same way, but I decided that aesthetics shouldn't be the final decision for anything. I hope the Mustang Mach-e works well for you.
