2020 Chevy Bolt EV range test at 70 mph

InsideEVs held two separate 70 MPH range tests with the 2020 Chevy Bolt EV recently. This is the version with the larger battery.

The first one was held in North Carolina. The 2nd was held in New Jersey and in his writeup about it, @Tom Moloughney explains way there is a slight variance in the results.

I have watched the first one already. Was pretty impressed. Biggest surprise for me was the follow up with the Kona. Most people say the Kona is more efficient, I expected it to do better than the Bolt.

In terms of performance, they are a pretty close match. The new Bolt has a very slightly larger battery - they probably did this so they could beat the Kona.

I get that they are nearly identical in many specifications it’s just that every practical comparison that I’ve read and watched the Bolt usually is a bit of an underachiever and the Kona seems to be an overachiever.

Kona, even with the 7500 tax credit, is overpriced vs the Bolt by several thousand with available rebates and incentives.
