Well worth the wait, the light interior makes a big difference as well. Congratulations and enjoy your new car!We picked up ours!!! Took a bit longer doing all the rebates applications as we got super lucky and got the bc scrap it rebate too! What a beauty, it’s better than I remember from the test drive (also the fact we got the 2020 instead of the 2019 one.. so happy with the wait and now on my way out to spend the day driving... lol!!
Ordered May 20th (Ultímate)... and, was supposed to get it last November, but we gave up our spot to wait for the extra rebate, by doing that we gave up our black ordered and got the ceramic blue. We are actually happier with the blue than what we would’ve been with the black (it worked out in our favour).

I got mine last week in Montreal. I ordered mine in Jun/04/2019. Yes... 10 months and 20 days... I countedHas anyone taken delivery in the last several months? We are still waiting here in Ontario. We ordered in November.
I was part of the first cohort of prospective Kona buyers back in 2018. I and we lamented ad nauseum about how long it took and how terrible Hyundai was about being opaque about the process and its lack of communication with its customers. From your comments about wait times it appears that the lead time is still crazy-long but I'm curious as to whether they've improved their communication strategy. So, has Hyundai kept you up to date about your orders? Have they done anything to make you feel valued?Yikes. That is a long wait. Was the vehicle worth the wait? With gas prices so low now, I've been sitting on the fence a little bit. I just can't believe how long these things are taking to make.
It sounds like nothing has changed. That's sort of sad. Predictable but sad. They tell you absolutely nothing. I just got this back from my salesperson:
"Hey Marc,
Thanks for reaching out. I spoken to our inventory admin staff for an update , and there are currently no orders showing in “build” or “shipped” status. We will follow up with our rep at Hyundai Canada to see if there have been any production delays due to covid-19 and relay any updates back to you."
I know when I ordered my truck from GM, the dealer was able to tell me everything very quickly. They also updated me two days after build date saying it was in quality check. They then let me know it was on a train and advised when it crossed the mexico/USA border and then again the USA/CAN border. He would just send quick texts. It was an impressive process.
Its actually a longer wait time now, as we waited only 8 months. Also had an "appreciation of your patience" note sent c/w $100 gift card after 5 months. No such luck these daysIt sounds like nothing has changed. That's sort of sad. Predictable but sad.
For me it was, love the car, plus gas would have to sell for less tha 20 cents a liter before it was more economical to drive an ICE vehicle in my part of the worldYikes. That is a long wait. My dealer just sent me problems the whole process...Its actually a longer wait time now, as we waited only 8 months. Also had an "appreciation of your patience" note sent c/w $100 gift card after 5 months. No such luck these days![]()
My dealer tried to increase the price the day I went to pick up my 2020 Kona in December car after ordering in May 2019. Needless to say I was upset and they got an earful from me. Ultimately I did not pay a penny more that what we previously agreed on.My dealer just sent me problems the whole process...
Question, for you they did they increase the price because it was different year/model? I negotiated the 2019 model in June/2019 but they increased the price when I went to pick the 2020 model last week.
At the time (July 2018) the only choice was "Ultimate" at a base price $51,999 on pre -orderMy dealer just sent me problems the whole process...

Did you get a s/n#?We ordered ours in late November/early December 2019, took my wife for a test drive during the Christmas break and changed the order to the Ultimate trim. Absolute silence from the dealer until last week when I called him to check in how the pandemic had impacted things. Was told that the car had been built at was waiting to be offloaded in Vancouver. 4-6 weeks before it gets here. I guess we will see.
No, not yet.Did you get a s/n#?

South-Central British Columbia. My dealer hasn’t exactly given me the greatest feeling of honesty so I’ll truly believe that it’s almost here when I drive it home.Where are you located. Based on ordering times you'd think mine would also be waiting to be offloaded.
