Tesla Q3 2019 Vehicle Production & Deliveries

In the third quarter, we achieved record production of 96,155 vehicles and record deliveries of approximately 97,000 vehicles.

• Model S/X - 16,318 production; 17,400 deliveries; 15% lease
• Model 3 - 79,837 production; 79,600 deliveries; 8% lease

In addition, we achieved record net orders in Q3 and are entering Q4 with an increase in our order backlog. As was also the case in Q2, nearly all of our Model 3 orders were received from customers who did not previously hold a reservation, solidifying the transition to generating strong organic demand. We are continuing to focus on increasing production to meet that demand.​

I find it rather strange to see Tesla reporting "approximately" 97,000 sales/deliveries. Since when does Tesla not report an exact number? And how is it possible that a publicly owned company like Tesla can get away with reporting only an approximate number?

Color me confused.

However, it's very encouraging to see the report that Tesla's backlog of orders is actually increasing. We need to just point and snigger whenever the serial Tesla bashers bleat their mindless falsehoods about "Falling demand"!

Yeah, Demand for Tesla's cars is "falling"... it's falling up every year!

Oh, now I see, that approximation wasn't from the SEC filing; it was an early announcement from Tesla. I had forgotten they do that. (I guess I should turn in my Tesla Cult Charter Member card! )

They still have to file with the SEC but with a disclaimer that there may be some changes in the final numbers.

On a happier note, I got my asking price on some TSLA stock sold today.

I always find it amusing that people say they made thus-and-such profit on their stocks for the day, despite not selling any. Well no, you can only profit on a stock investment when you actually sell the stock. Until then, the price could always drop lower.

Bob, maybe you forgot, but if you are using one trading account the IRS requires first shares bought are first shares sold... First in- First out, so I see you grabbed some losses, because I remember you first purchases were $290 ish You later bought at $320 ish, ouch... Smart to sell some Tesla, even at losses to pay taxes, as those shares likely someday will have no value.

Bob's average from My tracking is about $290 ish, I had a spreadsheet going for a while just off his quotes on here, but some of his statements do not jive with others, so I guess its worse than I figure. I told everyone when you go short and when to cover, although I did not hit the top of bottom, I still traded the same money in and out 3 times and got about 60% gross profit, and that was never risking my money more than 15 days. On the Funding Secured tweet it was exactly 2 weeks, my longest short...

Hmmm, from what I've read so far here, that sounds more like Bob than David.

Yeah, my Inside EV history shows in my posts when I shorted and covered, of course stock trading is not something you want to keep secret as the more people that follow your trades, the better off you will be.

I hope bob makes money on his trades, as he is not a bad guy, but he is sure bull headed on some things and sometimes uses some imagination in his explanations.

Agree Bob, I squelched PP a long time ago, and find life more peaceful since, his posts did not add value, and I got tired of personal (off topic) attacks, that rarely got to the points made in my posts.
