Hyundai Kona EV to be produced in the Czech Republic

Well, if the problem with current supply is the battery packs, like they keep saying, I'm not sure that'll make a huge difference. However apparently all the European Automakers are building facilities to produce batteries as well. Who knows ...

Lithium doesn't occur in its metal form in nature. It's usually laced into rocks or brine deposits. There's a tone of processing required to turn it into it's usable state. On top of all of that, it's rather rare! Batteries are usually the bottleneck for most EV production. Next person to develop a new energy storage source will be the worlds first Trillionaire lol!

The main problem is not Lithium. It is Cobalt. Hyundai uses Cobalt in their batteries and Cobalt is the most expensive and rare material in those batteries. Tesla is trying to get Cobalt completely out of their batteries to increase production numbers.
