Production-Bound, All-Electric Volkswagen I.D. Crozz II Reviewed – Video
It's a little ironic how excited this soft-spoken, meticulous review has made me for this vehicle. By Autogefühl standards this is a short presentation at 28:16, but includes some face time with chief designer Klaus Bischoff.
Basically what we learned is the basic exterior shape of this concept will return in the production version. It will likely have a traditional B-pillar with the rear door hinged to it, as in most traditional vehicles. Also, that light bar across the front will probably stay, along with the lit VW badge on the nose.
The interior will take some cues from the concept. Buttons will be kept to a bare minimum a la Tesla, but look for a rounder steering wheel. The glass roof with the laser cut lines that reflect light, creating a star-like effect, may also stay.
Price-wise, they hint it may dip below the 40,000 Euro mark ($47,280 at today's rates), but that may only be a rear-wheel-drive variant. With an 83 kWh battery, range should be in the 200-250 mile EPA-rated ballpark, and boast a 30-minute recharge time using CCS Combo.
Definitely check out the video in the link at the top of this post. Sooo good.
