I wonder what Honda's lack of sales and support for the Clarity means for the Pilot Plug-In Hybrid? Haven't seen anything about it since a few spy photos last June. I'd expect that the strong sales of Honda's big SUVs would encourage them to release the Pilot PHEV, but, as usual, mum's the word with Honda. The situation makes it clear that my hopes and dreams for Honda to bring their tiny Honda e BEV to the US will not come true. Time to write more letters...

Have seen more than 10 Claritys in the NY/NJ area since my Sept 2018 purchase, with considerably more sightings in NJ

finding a competent mechanic to fix mine if I ever need it fixed.

Honda does make other Hybrids and EVs. The Clarity has a drive train like a Hybrid Accord or Insight but with a bigger battery that is not as big as an EV Fit battery. Anyway most of the time you do not even need a real "mechanic" just a good parts replacement person once Honda tells them what parts to order & replace.

Not a single Clarity sighting in Oklahoma City. It would be hard to spot a Clarity in a sea of jacked up 'me too' 4x4 pickup trucks.

I see at least 3-5 on my daily commute from San Leandro (Oakland) to Redwood City, CA daily. Teslas are still more popular, but there are quite of few Claritys out here!!

And you need parts. Still waiting for a successful repair of a wrecked Clarity to be reported on this site. Once these cars darken a body shops door after a routine accident, they seem to never re emerge...

I've only seen one in the wild, but the dealer said they were selling about 2 per month when I bought mine at the end of October.

I hope they continue with the Pilot plug-in. We would love to replace our 2017 gas version before the warranty runs out as it has had numerous issues the past couple years.

Saw a silver Clarity in Merrick, Long Island, NY, yesterday. Mine is white. Tried to engage him by honking my horn but he was more concerned about looking at something on the screen, I guess.
Saw an earlier model on the Southern State Hway a few weeks ago. Didn't even know they existed on the Island.
I have seen people slowing down, caught one jerking his head, to look at my car. It seems incredible to them. I pay no attention. But it sure feels good.

Perhaps Honda should provide a button to blast the low-speed Acoustic Vehicle Alerting System music at high volume to hail fellow Clarity drivers.

I didn't know there was an earlier model other than the Fuel Cell and Electric Claritys, which don't ply the Southern State Parkway on Long Island.

That's what I thought but it might well have been a fuel cell. I was going too fast to check for the plug in. And in traffic. Yeah, I should have slowed down. Couldn't even see the plate. I was so stunned.
The back was more rounded than mine and didn't have the black back. Strange....

Unless you're talking about the very, very rare (probably less than 100 leased), 2008-2014 Los Angeles-only FCX Clarity, all Claritys are the same shape. Perhaps you saw a Honda Crosstour with it's rounded back.

You can tell the Clarity Electric by its clear tail lights or its Vortex Blue Pearl color that no other Clarity can have. All Clarity Fuel Cell cars have a black roof and black wheels.

I recently saw a Honda Crosstour up close for the first time. There does seem to be some rough similarly in the rear, especially as to how high the rear window is to get the mammoth sized trunk.

Didn't see any for a couple weeks, then BAM -- 3 Clarity in 2 days! Saw a red one yesterday on the highway, and a white and steel one within 5 minutes this morning. Unfortunately I wasn't in mine today (permit learner in the house prefers driving the old Civic) so I would have looked like a lunatic honking and waving LOL.
