Just for fun we named our Clarity (and Explorer)

I'm curious to know how many of us name our cars.
My wife and I are fans of the Outlander book series (and Starz show) so we decided to name our Clarity "Claire" and our Explorer "Jamie".
Do you name your cars?

We bought an old Civic for my boys to drive when they got to high school. As huge fans of Top Gear they named their car Geoff, which came from an episode where they built their own environmentally friendly car and christened it Geoff in bold writing on the rear quarter panel. They are both gone and in college now but we still have the car for my last daughter, and we all still call it Geoff.

I think I’ll name mine Houdini since it has managed to escape everyone’s attention.

Or maybe the Watt, as in “Watt kind of car is that, Bubba?”

We named ours "Spontaneous Combustion" because we can never be sure when...nah, my wife named her car, "Claire," too.

Claire is a nice name, but I fear it would always bring up images of...

Of course!

My Clarity is named Daphne. Since the paint is Moonlit Forest Pearl, I thought a nymph name would be appropriate. I couldn't find a wood nymph name that I liked enough, so I went with a water nymph--Daphne was also associated with laurel trees and I figured that was close enough!

My prior car, a white Prius, was named Bianca. I like a mix of literary and literal!

Named ours Clio, mostly because we liked the name and had echos of Clarity.

However, Clio is the Greek muse of history..and lyre playing, which might be more appropriate given the other current thread about the weird musical pedestrian warning sound.

Pedestrian warning New Age music...

We went with "Claire" because well it's the obvious choice but also because we have a former racing greyhound named Duron Claire. Ironically she never gets to ride in the Clarity but she does enjoy rides in our C-Max Energi: Maxine or our Subaru OutBack: Scoobie. Never named the Volt or the Prius for some reason.

Mine is white so we call it the Storm Trooper. It's futuristic and has the same colors . Also, it looks menacing (face) and a bit funny at the same time, just like the Star Wars character.
