So we just came back from dinner and I observed the most bizarre range behavior yet.
The drive was 8 miles on a level road, in fully electric mode. The ICE never came on once. In this 8 mile drive, I watched as the HV range (no, not EV range) drop, drop and drop some more. In this 8 mile, all electric drive, we lost 28 miles of HV range! We went from 1,000 (where it's been for a while now) to 972.
Now to put this in perspective, since our last fill-up where our HV range went to 1,000 miles, the ICE has not come on once. We've been driving only on electric. In that time I've charged the car multiple times, and the range has stayed at 1,000 miles. Now as ludicrous as that number is, I would not have expected it to change unless I began to use the ICE...and it has, until today, remained at 1,000.
So now, all of a sudden, the HV range decides to drop. For what reason? Why? What changed?
Honda, if you're listening, you really really need to address this. I've never seen anything like this.
