I think Honda does it on purpose to make you want to drive as many miles as possible in ev mode.My husband calls this "the angry bees".

Does everyone get this high rev when the ice kicks in? I am trying to decide if I need to take it in for service. I used a loaner for several days and never noticed this, but the car I purchased does it a lot when the battery is drained. It's very annoying, especially when I'm going 20 and am barely touching the accelerator. This car is remarkably quiet... Until it isn't. I swear sometimes the engine sounds like it is going to rev itself right out of the hood. I actually wonder what it sounds like to other drivers and if they think my car is about to explode or something.

Does it seem to be normal behavior to you? I can't decide whether to have service look at it.I notice that too when I've used up all the EV power.
I had the ICE kick on this morning barely a block from my house, completely full charge, with me barely pressing the accelerator. If it starts happening repeatedly I'll start to wonder, but this is the first time for no apparent reason.Does everyone get this high rev when the ice kicks in? When we run out of battery power and the ICE kicks in, it’s really not that bad at all on the highway. In fact it’s sometimes hard to pick up.Does everyone get this high rev when the ice kicks in?
