Elon eats another humble pie on the digging project. The silly skateboard idea was thrown away by boring company people. Shows us how much thought ELon puts to his ridiculous ideas before throwing those out at his fanboys to munch on. :)

The company previously said its planned urban transportation network, called the Loop, would whisk cars and pods through multiple levels of tunnels on autonomous, electric platforms called skates.

But Musk told reporters that Boring officials have abandoned the concept of the skate, saying it was “far more complex” than his new plan: guide wheels that can be attached to the front tires of autonomous, electric cars, steadying the vehicles as they move forward through tunnels.
Musk had promised modified “but fully autonomous” vehicles at the unveiling, but the reality was more modest: a Tesla Model X that reached a top speed of 53 mph, manually driven by an employee who previously drove in the Indianapolis 500.
I guess, Elon thinks rest of the human species digging tunnels and major subways for centuries under London, Tokyo, New York and other cities are collectively so dumb that he will beat their costs by 15x just with his simulation of silly ideas. :) LOL. Who would've thunk, an used sewer line digger was the answer humans have been looking for. :)
I wish, he borrows more money on his margin and dumps it all in this pit.
Oh, did I mentioned, it reached a whoppign 53 mph top speed driving through the sewer tunnel?

Oh, btw. Here is the original "visions" he had. Or could be he just stole some intern's idea and showcased it as his own.

Some gems from the electrek article on this:
Previously, the company had been talking about building “electric skates” on which vehicles could park and be transported through the tunnel.
Additionally, they had planned to do “electric pods” for public transportation.

Today, Musk announced that they are dropping both of those ideas in favor of a system of “tracking wheels”, which can be installed as an attachment to vehicles.

Wait, but what about those TSLA pimps on Wall St who had assigned few billions for all the gazillion electric pods Tesla was goign to sell in a few years?
Tracking wheels is just stealing ideas from already existing projects. Nothing to see here. Move along?

The Boring Company held a big event last night in which they should off a demonstration tunnel and allowed attendees to take a ride through the hole.

CEO Elon Musk gave a presentation explaining the concept beforehand. You can watch the video of that below.

So no one, not even the Tesla bulls, are cheering this party. Elon looks fat and drunk in the video.
I think, he also sounds confused making up those false (ok "aspirational") claims (ok, "guesses) of exponential (again) cost savings and speed increases. He looks wary of the DOJ and SEC breathing on his shoulders.

But he says, the cars have to drive at 150 mph. And shows a Tesla X. Well, that car will go into limp mode within a couple of minutes at those speeds :)
