Roseville will take some work and you may need to do it in person. Good luck.

thats a great price, does that includes MA State tax rebate? Can you post the itemized numbers?
 
I just bought a base model this past friday for 30700 in the bay area. Had to bargain to get it there. It was a 2018 that was just delivered few days before I bought it. Sales rep said they were selling pretty fast.

Actual numbers are in a folder I cant find, but was ~<$2k in taxes, $170 reg fee, $30250 sale price, $480 doc fee.
I financed, but didnt lease, so should be set for full rebate/incentives.

That's a good price. Which dealer? Was this with the 1000 off for financing? Lowest quote I have gotten in the Bay Area is 32500 plus 1000 off for financing.
 
I bought it at Honda averygreene in Vallejo. And I knew nothing of the 1000 off financing. I just played hardball for about 45 minutes.

Dealer here in the Seattle area is telling me year end deal is "invoice" + one penny. I always laugh when they tell me invoice as if I did not know about the dealer hold back Honda gives them when they sell the car.
 
I just bought a base Clarity from Justin Pedraza at Stockton Honda (Bay area) for $30,500.

It definitely was not easy to get that price. I told all the dealers I talked to that I knew others had gotten this price, and I would not pay more. There is a lot of end of year demand, so more and more pushback to this level of pricing.

Also, FYI....as of now, there are no base clarity left at Stockton Honda. They weren't sure whether or not there would be another shipment before year end.
 
Got an unbelievable price of 30,800+Tax+dealer fees + registration for Clarity Touring Model in CT. Went for test drive, Car had < 50 miles, Vin in 18000s. Car wasn't charged, battery was at 2 bars idling and while driving went to 1 bar; less than quarter mile out, car started behaving like described here, high rev and would not go past 20MPH, no matter what; it was local road, so was fine. But scared the back of out both the sales person and myself. Poor salesman felt remorseful for not charging the car and suggested to go back right away.

My drive is 40 miles one way and no charging capability at work. If it ever happened to be in a situation with no battery power or sudden drop in charge due to cold weather, the car is absolutely not drive able until charged.

Anyone who is thinking to buy, this car needs both battery and engine power. I may just that engine has power to move the car, but for some software bug , car is not switching to HV only mode seamlessly when the battery is extremely low. If it does it in highway or even local roads, it is safety hazard. it is not worth to put your life in jeopardy. Bad job from Honda.

so for now, going to stay out of Clarity.

Any suggestion for better just Hybrid cars ? thanks
 
My friend and I just bought two at South California area. Base model is 30570, Touring model is 33500. I feel this is the bottom price at this area. No dealer wants to deal with me below this price

That doesn't sound like a healthy Clarity. You did well to not buy that particular car. You should visit another dealer someday and try a healthy Clarity just for the experience, even though it won't satisfy your requirement for an 80-mile EV range.

Not my experience at all. I went on one of these two bar, 0.0 EV mile range test drives and the car performed as well if not better than my Altima Hybrid. Freeway @ 70+. Side road with a big uphill from a stop light was handled with ease. I was expecting it to struggle or go into a high rev mode but it didn't. I could barely tell the engine was running. Of course, any report of a car going into "limp mode" for no good reason is troubling, but it is not the experience of most who have driven this car.

Probably it has to do with temperature, it was about 30F. Fact that some car does and some doesn't shows to tell me Honda Quality Control/ Testing is not complete. Most likely they did not test for adverse weather condition. Seems like they designed this car only for CA. Really alarming to experience the failure over in the transition to HV mode.

Not sure if it is related to battery being dead for a while, these things happen with phone/tablet batters. When they have been dead for a while, it needs few hours even to charge. sometimes they don't charge until you reset the tablet.

Either way, I'm not comfortable to drop 30k on a car with unpredictable safety issues. Might have to look at Prius Prime.

I don't blame you. That would scare me away too. My circumstances have changed so I'm on the sidelines and reading about limp mode issues, even if rare, has me a bit thankful that I haven't purchased yet. If it happened to me on a test drive I'd probably be running for the door too.
 
Near Boston, $31,253 (before sales tax & fees) for a black touring. $499 'dealer fee', $100 for wheel locks I don't care about, and about $200 in registration fees.

This was the initial offer from the dealer, I couldn't get another dealer to even match it and with the MA rebate change at the end of the year I was in a rush.
