I can understand you better than I can some first-language English speakers, so no worries. :)
 
In Nuevo Mexico, our laws are bilingual and so is everyone else to the extent desired. We can and often use both languages within a sentence. But, remember Chile comes from the earth and chili is the prepared dish (chili con carne). Oops - Spanglish. lol. Ok, Bueno Bye . Yeah I like my volt - following the thread).
 
Thinking and thinking what to buy, the one which I selected or step up in case I get a Bolt later. Oh well, I will be 70 in April and may not be able to EV it again. I also have a #608 reservation on an Elio three wheel vehicle, if they ever go into production. I'LL have to think on it. Either way, the Volt is a keeper. May each and everyone have a Merry ChristMass.
 
Alright everyone. I bit the bullet. Almost went with the higher or faster one (in case a Bolt comes into my future). The 4hr charge should suffice. Will arrive next week. Yes, New Mexico is a state. We are north and west of Texas, east of Arizona, and south of Colorado. My family has been here nearly 400 years. Ok, as always, Bueno Bye.

My wife's grandmother lives in Las Cruces, NM. She can see the mountains from her backyard. It is beautiful sight in the winter!

I'm glad you settled on a charger. Either the 16 or 32 amp woulda worked great on your Volt no matter which you chose. I hope you continue to enjoy your Volt! You'll love it even more now that you can charge it up so quick! :eek:
 
Yep, the Organ mountains are nice and different. I am 20 miles from Colorado. I am planning on taking my 90 yr old mother to Las Cruces in my Volt in a couple of months (for a few days) to visit her 82 yr old sister. Down hill all the way. See, retired and caring for mother. Hey, at least I have my Volt, Suzuki Burgman 650 ( & 4 more vehicles). Insurance, insurance, insurance. Oh well. As always Bueno Bye.
 
Had 240V hardwired high enough from little hands (not the president - my grandsons).. WOW 4 hours to change . It sure beats the overnight 15 hrs.. As always Bueno Bye.

Glad to hear everything is working great! Yes the L2 charge station is so worth the extra effort and money. So much faster!
 
Francisco, I laughed for 5 minutes at your comment on how long your family has been in Nuevo Mexico! Hahahaha! Then I had to join to reply! I also purchased a 2014 Volt back in November, but it had 30,000 miles on it. I've put another 3,000 on it myself since and absolutely love this car! I've taken 5-250 mile trips in that 3,000 miles so my average mileage since purchasing the car is only 74 mpg currently. But with no more trips planned in the next few months I expect that number to improve every time I drive it. I'm old and retired so I'm not into buying the brand new cars at top dollar and I'll be looking to get a 2017 Volt when 2020 rolls around. They have nicer leather interior options and heated steering wheel. I want a heated steering wheel! Plus with more electric range, I'll be nearly 100% electric when driving in the area. My farthest out point of shopping is 27 miles, so I can't quite do a round trip on my battery. We don't usually go out more than once a day, so the 120 volt charger has been adequate. Most trips out are less than 20 miles r.t. and we still have battery reserve when we get home. I installed a dedicated 20 amp gfci 120 volt outlet so I could charge at the higher rate option. It takes 8 hours, but since we only go out once a day, that hasn't been a problem.
My mother's side didn't arrive near Middlesex, Va. til 1650 and Dad's side didn't hit Germantown, Pa. til 1742, but somehow I understood you just fine? I did get around some in my youth... ;) My sister lives in Carlsbad, Nuevo Mx.

Welcome to the forum and congrats on the Volt! We own a 2013 Volt and have about 40,000 miles on it now without a single major issue.

You're gonna love your car!
 
New member here. I also purchased a 2014 last April. It was a CPO with 27,000 miles. It was an off lease from California, bought in Missouri and I live in Indiana. Had to drive 3 hours to get it....glad I did :D I too am retired and run electric 99.9% of the time. My son lives in Virginia....so we have made 4 1600 mile round trips. Managed to get 40+ mpg over the mountains, fully loaded.
WE LOVE THIS CAR !!! Went with L2 EVSE from day 1 :)
 
I also purchased my 2014 Volt in Missouri as a former Missouri dealer lease car. Drove 3 hours from Arkansas to get it. It's been 6 full months and 4,000 miles driven now and I've got my mpg up to 85. Still loving this car and want a 2017 model now...heated steering wheel! Warmer weather means more electric miles! Yay!

Welcome to the forum! Glad you love your Volt! It is a fantastic car all around. Efficient whether on electric or gas! :D

Lots of folks pick it up as their first EV. Was this your first as well?
 
Greetings.. Back in November Wade recommend that I prepare for the future. I read that the 2019 Volt will be able to get a quicker charge. I should have taken that advise. However, 4 hours isn't too bad. Happy Independence Day. Bueno bye
 
My long term plan is working...my mpg average since purchasing my 2014 Volt is up to 101.3mpg! I've put a little over 4500 miles on it since I purchased in Oct. 2017, which also means my powerstroke diesel sits in the driveway a whole lot more. The lifetime mpg average so far is 129.1mpg. I'd love to get my hands on a 2019 Volt, I'd never use any gasoline!
