Tesla Dealer lot OVERFLOWING????

i LIVE IN PARAMUS NJ, THE LOCAL TESLA DEALER LOT HAS FILLED TO OVERFLOWINNG IN THE LAST TWO MONTHS...,IT USED TO BE HALF FULL. IF TESLA HAS A 400k BACK LOG OF UN DELIVERED ORDERS why are the lots so full, should the cars be comoing in and going out???
2ndly tesla's web web site says I can order online and get delivery in 2 months, how can that be, when there are 400K unfilled orders??????

OK so Tesla does not have dealers...what do the call them service/delivery and or pick up locations/centers. The point is, whatever they are called why are cars piling up in the lot??? if people are so eager to get them....and why can i order one online and get it in 2 months if there are people who have been waiting in line for years? I am not trolling ...I am an investor in TSLA and I am trying understand what I am seeing????
are other people seeing this at other tesla service (aka dealer) locations...if that makes me a troll..ok.

I am not surprised, shorts found another lot in AZ that is also filling up with cars, I have no idea what all this means, but my intuition says there is trouble in paradise...

Looks like an ordinary parking lot with some empty parking spots.

Perhaps you might drive by and take some photos to show the problem?

If you have a dash cam or smart phone, you might drive through their parking lot and make a video to post on YouTube. Then wait a week and repeat. This gives a way to measure the turnover.

From the video, it doesn't look all that bad. Looking at a map, Paramus is not that far from New York city. Google says it's about an hour drive.

As a Tesla investor, are you shorting the stock? If you are long, then just sell the stock if you are worried, or buy some puts.

Don't know if I qualify as a Kool-Aid drinker, but I am bullish about the company. I don't own stock since I write about them.

So basically what's happening is they get shipped out in quantity to distribution lots. From there, they'll send them in batches to staging areas like the one here. The cars will have to be washed and prepared for delivery from there. There are any number of lots with large numbers of cars in them around the country.

Every automaker does this to some extent, but it's not usually well publicized because other manufacturers don't have short sellers trolling distribution lots trying to convince people that the company has no orders for already-produced vehicles. Tesla makes cars mostly to order, so doesn't carry inventory in the quantities traditional OEMs do.

what about the 400K back log vs. the 2 month delivery available according to TESLAS website model 3 order portal.?
can you explain that?
 
Do you mean, explain why, if they have a 400,000 order backlog, people can get a car in 2 months? I'll take a stab at it.

I haven't done all the math, but I imagine about half of the orders are international. Maybe as much as two-thirds. Those haven't started being shipped yet.

I imagine a good number of outstanding domestic orders are for the Standard Battery cars, maybe one-third. That leaves approximately about 100,000 cars they have on order that they're building against. if they're approaching the 20,000 a month build rate, then I can see a 2 to 3-month wait being possible.
 
Well if we can use lots full of cars as a metric of business success, Toyota, Ford, and GM are done for it. <grins>
