While I don't deny that Service Ontario person might be spiteful when she told me that since it was the day of the swearing in ceremony when I called, but it doesn't diminish the stress I've had to go through trying to get this unicorn.
The only issue I see is that the list of qualifying cars does not include the 2019 models, and will that list be frozen at the point of canceling rebates, or will car companies still be able to submit applications for additions to the list?
I think it will get frozen. A 2019 model is not the same as a 2018. I think the government will give a reasonable time frame for delivery, which is probably 3-6 months.

I think a cancellation will put a feeze on people buying the Touring to reduce rebate qualification risk. Honda will then fill the Base orders, which I believe they have been reluctant to do since Basw model delays helped Touring sales.

What politicians say does not necessary translate directly to the rules set by the administrators, but instead of getting 6 months to fulfill existing contracts it may be 9 or 12 months. The only issue I see is that the list of qualifying cars does not include the 2019 models, and will that list be frozen at the point of canceling rebates, or will car companies still be able to submit applications for additions to the list?

While I agree you can’t ‘hold’ a politician to a promise, a copy of that statement would be sufficient to virtually guarantee a settlement in small claims if it went that route. Like 0% your case would need to go to trial to get the rebate. And the 2 year statute of limitations would be extended until you file the rebate with the 2019.

We ended up picking up a Touring this weekend that became available rather than wait for our ordered Base. We love it!

Picked up mine yesterday! Only got to drive it back home and then I had to leave on a trip for 2 weeks. Didn’t even get to play with anything :(
Question for everyone, why is the drivers side mirror outside edge look funny?

They made a portion of the mirror convex to help with reducing the blind spot. I'm use to it now and it does reduce the blind spot slightly, but still looks funky o_O

To JJim and Rickyrsx your some of the few that have received Base models, can you fill us in on some details. Where did you get the car from, when did you order, get notification that the car was coming, and finally received. That kinda stuff, many of us that ordered base models have been left with no information whatsoever.

The June Canadian Clarity delivery numbers are out from Honda. 168 for the month and 588 total for the year. Better numbers and direction from the Jan-May numbers of 76,93,119,73,59.

Now if they can keep up the momentum for July maybe we can get some of our many cars on the list delivered!

Just note that Honda is quoting these as Sales numbers not deliveries, so they may just be piling on the wait list. I don't think anyone was able to clearly define whether Honda counts a sales order from a dealership in the count, as opposed to the delivery of the vehicle.

Also the Vin number sequence (the last 3 digits). If you don't want to share the exact number put an X in the last digit.
Or you can add your info to the spreadsheet (check the 1st post in this thread).

I am living in BC where people seems don't interest in Clarity too much since the just $5K incentive compare to 13K in Ontario. I was about to buy the Outlander PHEV since the AWC and 10 years/100K waranty but I finally decided to get the Base Clarity for better EV range. Some dealer having Touring model available but Base is rare. I got the information someone posted Harmony Honda having Base one, contacted them, put down deposit on Jun 20 and got it yesterday, VIN end 753. Very happy on 370km back home.
Surrey Honda also selling a used Base Clarity here

??? Accounting principles require the sale to be recognized only once ownership of the good has transferred to the buyer.

Your sales figure is actually deliveries... or a big case of fraud since Honda is publicly traded and requires their financial statements to comply with accounting principles (whatever Japan’s’ stiles would be called, or IFRS which is optional in japan)

Just got a phone call from Chris at Hunt Club Honda. He says they received a Grey Touring Clarity today and the client backed out. I’ve already purchased one so I told him I am not interested. He is going down his list of potential buyers and calling. It is now available. Get it while its hot! I did not get the VIN.

I ordered mine on May 12 from Parkway Honda. Mine was a grey Touring model. I dealt with Francesco D’Aprile, who is the fleet manager. I don’t know if he has any more power than other people but even he was surprised the car arrived so quickly. I actually got notified about my car when I saw a post on this forum from @Phunny that there was one at Parkway. I emailed Francesco and he told me that one wasn’t mine but mine would be arriving very shortly. My VIN ends 71X. I also used a car buying service to refer me so while there was no discount on the car, I will get a $350 rebate for using the referral service.

Parkway received another three this week, 1 white base and 2 white Tourings. Seems like a flurry of white models hit the area (whitby had 2 as well). Anyone lucky enough to be on the spreadsheet and receiving theirs this week?

From the perspective of those waiting for deliveries, I think that this is good news. I feel that it will motivate Honda to get the cars delivered by September 10, provided that the Base models are profitable in Canada.

If the dealer fails to deliver it by September 10, the situation gets interesting. How liable is the dealer for not being able to deliver a vehicle in time for the rebate? The dealer would not have know at the time of the agreement that the September 10 date was a cutoff date. But, in my case, they would have had 5.5 months to deliver a car that they said would take them 2 months.

And, from a dealers perspective, they risk having cars ordered but deals canceled and left with the liability of a car suddenly $13,000 more expensive than before. As we have seen, Ontario was driving sales across the country (people scrambling to purchase them anywhere and shipping them to Ontario). What happens to these cars (in the short term) are they going to be able to sell them for max price now.
