Clubman SE

Got your attention, didn't I? ;)

Given the similarities between the F56 and F54, I got to wondering what it would take to create an F54 SE. Presumably the motor, controller, onboard charger, etc., could be swapped over readily enough, but what about the battery? The base of the T that it occupies is longer in the F54 than the F56, so it wouldn't be quite a straight-up exchange. Go for a custom/aftermarket battery, then? How much capacity could you stuff in there w/o making the car too heavy? 40-45 kWh, perhaps?

Obviously not a cheap undertaking even if you could find a couple of appropriate donor vehicles. It would also require considerable expertise. However, just think of the attention such a vehicle would draw at your local car-and-coffee!

(Yes, I am aware that the Aceman sort of fills this niche, but Clubbies are cooler.)

Definitely the R55 is cooler with the long doors and the 3rd half suicide door, but the F54? I was never a fan because of the shorter doors of the four-door design. :)

Aceman comes up short because it doesn't have the barn doors, just a hatch. To me the barn doors are the key feature of a Clubman.
