Just bought an absolutely mint condition 2022 Kona Electric Preferred (Westcoast Canada) with 39K Km's (24,000 miles) on it. No accidents, clean CarFax, Local, known history, etc.
I have already done the GRU oil change myself, and nothing anywhere in or on the car has witness marks from wrenches or tools or grubby fingers, or any fasteners being touched, they all looked OEM and unmolested.
Here is the point of the Thread: I connected a VeePeak BLE dongle and used the ELM OBD2 Car Scanner app.
- The Scanner tells me the car has 3 accumulated "Quick" Charges, and 14 accumulated "Standard" Charges stored. ("Accumulated quick charging: 14 kWh) (Accumulated normal charging: 195 kWh)
- I have done 5 Level 1 120V@ 12a charges up to a max of 90% at home just to see how it worked, using the OEM Hyundai supplied EVSE set up.
So now I am all suspicious and cynical.
It was *me* who has done the 3 DC Fast Charges, a few days after purchase, just to see how it worked and get a feel for it at different types of Charge Stations. And if 5 of the 14 accumulated "Normal" charges were me, then that means the car was never DC Fast Charged and only Slow Charged 9 times in the past 3 years. I refuse to believe that can be true.
Is it an Occam's Razor thing? Is it actually possible? I am drawing a blank here, surely there must be something obvious I am missing. Does the car automatically delete and reset some data after a set number of months/years/preset Service Interval parametres?
I'm not a Math guy, so if it says things like: "Battery Work Time Total 683.86 Hours", and "Cumulative Energy Charged 257.4 kWh" can this be a reasonable divisor re: hours used/energy charged since 2022?
