Level 2 charger for 2023 Bolt EUV

Greetings everyone.
My 2014 Volt was sold, which I regret.
2011 Volt just died.
Just purchased 2023 Bolt EUV with 20,400 miles. Trying educate myself on everything.
I drive approximately 100 miles per day and can charge at home, but by end of the week I fear the need to go to a charging station.
So, my expense solution is to purchase a level 2 home charger.
What is the least expensive but good charger? Thank you and God Bless you all

Check out Tom Moloughne's state of charger u-tube channel. He reviews chargers and goes over the features and qualities of many major chargers (EVSE's). Some of the top rated chargers are also reasonably priced. A few brands that are at the top are Grizzl-e, Emporia, and ChargePoint. I have a J+ booster that I like. It also has a very good rating but is not wifi connected, but that doesn't matter to me.

I had a low reservation number on an Aptera, but when the Volt died I decided to see about the 2026 Bolt. Couldn't wait therefore my current purchase. We make adjustments our entire life.
 
The Chevy Bolt supports up to 11.5 kW AC charging. For the fastest home charging, a hardwired Level 2 charger 48A is your best bet—it can add about 100 miles of range in roughly 2.5 hours. Just make sure your garage wiring can handle a 60A circuit to safely support that 48A charging; you might need to upgrade your electrical wiring, which could add some cost.

That said, a Level 2 charger rated for 40A (9.6 kW) will also do the job and typically adds about 100 miles of range in around 3 hours.

One more tip: it’s best to get a level 2 home charger with WiFi, Bluetooth, or SIM connectivity. Chargers with these features usually have remote control capabilities, letting you adjust charging current in real time based on your home’s electrical load to avoid overloading your system. Plus, you can schedule charging during off-peak hours to save on electricity costs.

I believe the original (before 2022) Bolt maxes out at 7.2 kW for AC charging and 50 kW for DC charging.
 
I purchased a Grizzl-E Level 2 EV Charger up to 40 Amp Indoor/Outdoor. Awaiting my electrician to get back from vacation to install.
Next question: How can I do a quick charge on a trip? Do I need any type of charger adapter and is it good for all charging stations?
I didn't need these questions for my Volt.

Well, maybe I will just take my 1995 (30 yr old) Lincoln Town Car on long trips. Only has 55,650 original miles. I take it out Sundays. Last month I traveled 630 miles. Yup garage kept. Look and runs almost like new. I put it up for sale then chicken out often. lol

Okay, back to the charging adapter - anyone?
 
You don't need an adapter to quick charge (DC fast charge) except for charging at Tesla Superchargers. For Tesla you can obtain an adapter from you Chevy dealer parts counter. They are about $200. A2Z and Lectron make quality aftermarket adapters. Don't buy a cheap after market adapter as they can be unsafe.

To locate DC fast chargers use Plug Share or A Better Route Planner

You need a Tesla to CCS for DC Fast charging. The Tesla to J1772 does not work for DC fast charging. It is for AC charging only. The j1772 is for hotel destination chargers or if you are at a friends house with a Tesla ac wall charger.

PS: I am a retired Grants Administrator for local government. Since I was the oldest "child" and retired, I took care of my mother for ten years. She passed at 93. Thereafter Gunsmoke got tiring. Needed something different so I have been Door Dash for 1 1/2 years, therefore the Volt and now the Bolt. I am 77 yrs old and enjoy what I do.

With your Tesla adapter, your flexible schedule, and PlugShare as your guide, you'll be fully equipped for the adventure of long-distance trips in your Bolt. Load a few episodes of Gunsmoke on your phone to watch while you're charging. :)
