Browsing all the Ioniq 6 Reddits and Forums one finds a recurring theme of people wondering why, if you want the SEL or Limited trims, you can't choose 18" aero wheels.

For example, the only discernable differences between a Long Range SE RWD and an SEL RWD are the wheel diameter and the tire width BUT, with the 18" aero wheel and slightly narrower tire the rated range is 342 miles while with the 20" non-aero wheel and wider tire, the range drops to 291 miles.

For 51 extra miles (heck, for 20 extra miles) I'd be only too happy to use the smaller wheels, no matter how "un-stylish" they might appear - and the taller sidewalls on the tires would probably benefit the ride quality, as well!

I downsized from the 17" OEM Power Spoke wheels on my MINI Cooper SE to 16" MINI wheels for those two reasons (also because I was terrified of curbing the yellow stripes around the circumference of my Power Spokes). I'm annually reminded of the extra comfort I achieved every Drive Electric Week when I put the Power Spokes back on for a day. It's possible that the less-aerodynamic Loop Spoke wheels negate the potential for more range, but I don't care.
