I had my first over the air software update yesterday. After 14 months of nothing I was beginning to think OTA capability was pure fiction. It seemed like it worked fine. Apparently it was to improve high speed charging. But, I just noticed tonight that the update seems to have reset my charging limits to 100% (from 80%) without any input from me. Not a big deal but definitely a quirk.

Nice... was it this one?

Not sure if it flattens the curve a bit or actually enables 100kW peak. When the weather warms up (or use precondition) perhaps let us know if any changes.

That's the one. Actually, I've never fast charged so I have nothing to compare. I'm curious when you got the update?

Hey Wildeyed, how did this happen? Did you prompt it somehow, or did the update just appear? Did you get a notification? Nothing for me so far after 11 months.

I was just parking after a drive and a prompt came onscreen instructing me. Because I had errands to run I authorized it to start. 10 minutes later it was done.

Just a heads up- if running an app ie: Carscanner etc, not to leave in dongle OBD2 socket and limit time on the app appropriately as may interfere with OTA updates:

;)

Good to know. The OTA prompt also reminds you not to run anything as the update is underway.
So it sounds like if one is running an OBD2 app and an OTA comes available at the same time, one has the option to disconnect the dongle (and related app) before authorizing the OTA download... or does it just go ahead regardless if owner authorizes or not...ie it does require authorization first?

Bluelink via e-mail says I got one last night at midnight.
Car does not display anything new in the General/What's new menu as pictured above.
Can't even log into Bluelink...error.
I think I know by now which one to believe:rolleyes:

This is the e-mail I got last week compliments of "Bluelink":

Congratulations! Your 2025 KONA EV (VIN:KM8....... ) has successfully downloaded the latest software update..

This is the e-mail I got today:

Update has been canceled on your 2025 KONA EV (VIN: KM8......... ) Vehicle cannot be on or charging. Please retry after next ignition off.

Went out and followed the infotainment manual procedure, finally got the update screen after ignition off...
I guess I will find out in the am, either its updated or the 12V battery will be low from trying.

To err is human, but to really foul things up a subscription to Bluelink is required:D

I decided to move existing posts related to OTA updates to ease future searches and relieve some congestion from the existing "New Generation" thread.
Sorry if I didn't move the posts in exact order...need more practice:oops:

OTA was a success:)

Apparently it is designed to shut off the taillights in a proper fashion after shutdown, here is the TSB:
25-01-044H (scroll down...PDF is downloadable)
I did find out (via BM2) the 12V battery level went down to 12.56 V and did not initiate a top up after the update, or the day after (today).
The usual battery level is over 12.65V at the minimum, so a word to the wise...make sure your battery level is excellent before allowing the downloaded update to be processed. This can be done by rejecting (postponing) the installation until after slipping into utility mode for a couple of hours. There is a mention of the battery level in the TSB concerning OTA updates as well and also keep in mind this update was a small one (just over 3 mb I found out, so a major update could be hard on your battery level if one does not give it a good charge beforehand;)
