So, when I recently changed my engine oil I noticed that the inside of both front brake rotors had deep wear grooves like what happens when the pads are shot. The outside looked normal. I have not had the chance to pull the wheel off to inspect closer but using a using a mirror I can see that there is plenty of brake pad left. Anyone noticed this on their Clarity? Mine is a 2018 touring with 53k miles.

Both left and right rotors are the same. Hopefully I can get the wheels off soon and have a look.

Yeah, I've also noticed this on the inside face of the rotors. In my case its mainly bands of rust, but there is also some scoring that looks almost like metal on metal. I did notice that on the inside pads it looks almost like part of the friction material has broken off (rust jacking?), so that's probably the cause for the inside bands of rust in my case.

Thanks for the info. I need to get a floor jack that is rated for this heavy beast and then I can get a wheel off to look at the pads.

For most cars, the inside pads and rotor will get worn out faster. When the piston extends, the inside pad will get push out first since it is lighter then the outside with the metal bracket, guide pins and the rest of the hardware.
