What did you do to your MINI today?

Left the car plugged in weekend and charged to 100% from 10% on 16amp Friday night to Monday Am. Didn’t drive anywhere as we bixi around or walk. A couple times the app said the car started charging but like pulling very very low amount of power. Tbh the app was a bit wonky on the weekend and I didn’t really think anything of it.

Unplugged this am and my usual round trip to and from work is around 18-22% SOC. Today it was 12%… going to work used 6% and 6% on the way back. Same route, speed and driving style… really odd. My friend who works at Tesla thinks the BMS system might have balanced the battery cells out.

I too have experienced greater than usual estimated range after a healthy charge. I have never caught the car charging after hitting 100%, though - will have to keep my eyes out for that.

<scurries off to check last time I charged to 10O%)

My wife used 3% getting to work this AM. GOM is sitting at 194km. Just an interesting note I’d thought I’d share

i think the notifications were just the app being wonky this weekend as it was having a service interruption.

What happens when you switch to Green Mode? Does the GOM exceed 194km?

I am on team MID!

lol my GOM at 100% this morning was 136 km (85 miles). I don't think I've ever seen it estimate more than 180 km, though I've regularly driven more than 200 km before plugging in.

Installed an accessory I hope I never need to use: the warning triangle that mounts in the boot lid.
  • The warning triangle part number is 71606770487.
  • The mounting bracket part number is 51497375203.
    • You'll need 2 of them--they're identical, and keyed to make sure you mount them correctly.
    • Just use the T25 screws that are in the recess to attach the brackets.

Very cool. Where did you source the parts, and at what price? Dealers around here mark up biggly (eg: the piano black beltline kit is over $850 -- about $635 US).

I bought the warning triangle from ECS Tuning for ~$23 + shipping. I was pleasantly surprised that they actually had it in stock.

They did not have the mounting brackets in stock (with a note saying they had no idea when they would have more), so I wound up ordering them from Seattle MINI's parts department for ~$9 each + shipping (and they didn't have the triangle in stock). My local dealership and all those in the states around me don't have a way to mail order parts by part number on their website like the Seattle dealership does. Weird.

It is not compulsory to have a warning triangle here in NZ and our SE does not come with one, so we got one of these; it has a 360 deg flashing beacon, LED torch, seat belt cutter and glass hammer.IMG_2901.webp

Little drive today to Venise en Quebec and Fritz Kaiser cheese. 200km drive using smaller roads and returned home with 33% SOC. A bit windy but otherwise perfect EV weather. It was nice to have the sunroof open for a change

THat's cool! Wish I knew about this a few months ago when I bought a warning triangle set. Think I'll replace the set with this one to gain back some space in the lower boot.

Need a favor from the community. For those who have a 2020 or 2021 SE, I want to ask if the connector to the side scuttles (side marker turn lights) looks like the image below.

Thank you!

My 2021 SE had an incandescent wedge bulb as shown here (screen grab from a YouTube video):

When I replaced mine with LED scuttles, the new scuttles plugged into the slot where the bulb went. I don't know if that white bulb holder can be removed--and I don't know if the harness connector would look like your picture once removed.
