One early report claimed Tripp had adulterated the factory software implying contributing to the manufacturing woes. That is not in the current court pleading.
Thank you for pointing that out. I get so tired of people rushing to judgement on a case based on early reports, before all the facts are in.
I was startled to hear a news reporter or commentator say, on a news show recently, that most of the initial reports coming in about a breaking news story turned out to be wrong. That doesn't surprise me, based on my personal knowledge of stories reported by the media, but it was startling to hear a "newsie" actually admit that in public!
Sadly, in this "information age" and the era of the 24-hour news cycle, we've lost sight of the ideal of "Innocent until proven guilty." Tripp is accused of a lot of things, none of which have been proven in court, and (so far as I know) none of which have yet been supported by evidence confirmed by third parties or by outside forensic analysis.
It's entirely possible that Tripp is guilty of most or all of what he is accused by Tesla. But the wise man will exercise some healthy skepticism, skepticism in the scientific sense, and wait until the actual evidence is in, before passing judgement.
Furthermore, the properly skeptical person will also note that none of the accusations from FUDsters over the years of Tesla faking its production numbers has been supported by the slightest shred of real evidence, and most of those claims have been shown to be utterly and completely contrary to the actual facts. Facts rather hard to fake, like VIN numbers!
