Here we go again:
How much more/less does a runflat weigh than a non runflat? How much does that increase/decrease in unsprung weight affect range?
How much more/less rolling resistance does a runflat have over the non runflat? How much does that increase/decrease in rolling resistance affect range?
How much longer/shorter is the stopping distance in wet, dry, cold, warm... blah blah blah.

I got rid of the runflats on my 128i when I did some suspension modifications. I did a lot of reading to find out what guys like TC Kline does

I was told during a Tesla Technical training course a few months ago that runflats were about 8-12% loss. Run flats are better than they were in 2006 but they are still pretty crap.

Thanks. I am pretty sure I didnt see a 2 mpg improvement when I switched, but I also have fun with the car.

AZAUSA, how many miles does your GOM show when you have a full charge?

Are runflats v non runflats the reason the SE EPA range improved?

You will see a range improvement with flat faced lightweight low rolling resistance 16 inch wheels. Or even 17s. IIRC the power spoke wheels are the most aero. Around town you likely won’t notice it. I have a client with a model that only installs his aero caps when going on longer trips that involve lots of constant speed driving

Tommm, my GOM ranges from 150 - 180, often 165 at 100% SOC

Runflats were not usd on previous SEs. Those of us in the US at least all came with non-RF summer tires.

I run on run flats in the winter for personal reasons and honestly don't notice a difference in range until it gets cold. I'm not a gentle driver though.
 
If the theoretical 8-12% loss for RFT holds true then the SE should be able to hypermile 6.0mi/kWh or 173.4 miles on a WLTP treadmill.

I’m on the fence about getting some different wheels and ultra low rolling resistance tires but I’m not sure given our driving habits between my wife and myself it would make any difference
