No discount available anywhere. I checked out a few dealers in Ottawa and they all told me the same thing: Honda Canada will not allow them to budge on price. I got them to throw in 2 oil changes and a brake service (not an inspection, a service/cleaning). I'm leasing the car for 3 years and figured this would cover my maintenance for the life of the lease.
I see that there is a third person, Gary, waiting for a green touring from Ottawa Honda. I don't understand why they would keep "selling" these things knowing they still have some on back-order. Gary ordered his in April and they already had 2 pending orders for the exact same car. It's brutal!

That is not true. I and 2 of my friends got $700 discount on the base trim. I know another Jason that got a $1000 discount ($700 cash discount + he got the White base for no charge, in case you don't know, all Honda white color car has a $300 premium over other colour)
Well, the discount point is mood anyway, I don't even know if they will honor the discount as now, they can really hold the proverbial gun to my head and said, you want your $14,000 rebate or your $700 discount
Sales tactic.
Don’t just leave them off the hook. Make sure to ask them what they plan to do to fill your order? Will they be filling it with a 2019. I would let them know you aren’t cancelling your order at this point. It is worth having a discussion on what they intend to do to satisfy the contract.

Every single dealer I spoke to gave me the same BS story that Honda will not authorize a discount. I figured since it was coming from more than one dealer it was legit. I guess I fell for it.

they do offer converting the order to 2019, yet they don’t have concrete date or estimated date for the delivery. Totally lost faith to Honda and I will go check Leaf or Volt.

Ordered a Green touring on March 28th.
A month later I called the dealership for a status update, and they actually had a white touring arrive that day that someone else had ordered and then later cancelled after the car was already en-route to the dealership.
I'd already been thinking about switching to white so snapped that one up that evening.
The dealership (Midtown Honda) had been saying it would be 1-3 months for delivery.

Added my information into the spreadsheet - April, Touring Red. Was originally told that it would be here by the end of June - keeping my fingers crossed for some more details soon!
For those who ordered from Ottawa Honda, I was just told they have a white touring on route and can possibly get a red touring as well. The white is scheduled for June. I asked when the red might be delivered but haven't heard back. I was asked if I wanted to switch to either and I declined. I really don't like either colour so I've decided to wait for my green touring. I'm actually leaning towards cancelling the order in a week (will have been 90 days). I'm concerned with Honda. I'm afraid there might be more issues with owning or leasing one of these. Who knows if the dealers will know how to support/work on these cars at this point. And given the fact it's a brand new platform, I'm concerned with quality/bugs/assembly issues.
As much as I was stoked to get one of these, I'm kind of on the fence at this point. I've started looking at alternative PHEVs and EVs. I've even started looking at diesels as an option.

When I contacted my dealer's Manager today, he indicated that have not heard anything from Honda from my order and he will update me as soon as he hears back from Honda Canada. He also indicated that worst case scenario is the orders will be rolled back to 2019 models. He also indicated that Honda is not producing new 2018 models. He also indicated that he do not anticipate the rebate will get cancelled any time soon. Based on above, I am not making any changes and continue to wait. As long as I get my rebate , I will get the car.
