Congrats on your new ride! Am sure you’re enjoying the bay area in this driver’s car. Could you give a brief impressions; Particularly, do you feel the center console interferes with your driving leg / knee, or is it my imagination after I drove the car?
Not everybody has the same body shape/type, but for me, it's no problem. I'm a relatively thin guy (160 lbs) at 6 ft with long legs. I ended up bringing the seating position back fairly far from the pedals to make driving comfortable. But overall, I am pretty satisfied with my comfort as a driver.
Specifically regarding the center console - I barely notice it to be honest. It's definitely a more enclosed driving experience than my Kia Niro EV, and I have to sit in a different position as a result. But the difference in driving experience far outweighs any small negatives there, at least from my experience so far.
I've read things online about some people having problems with their Polestar shortly after taking delivery, and needing to take it in for repairs as a result. While I verify that my car doesn't have any defects, I'll be holding onto the Niro as a spare vehicle for a few months before selling it, in order to avoid relying on a loaner.
Anyway, I did drive my Niro again yesterday after driving the Polestar and was blown away by the difference in the driving experience. The Polestar drives in a really refined, smooth, planted manner. The Niro drives in a jerky, unrefined manner by comparison.
Don't get me wrong, the Niro EV is still a great car, but I feel really satisfied with my purchase so far. The only thing I've noticed is that the windows squealed a bit the first few times I rolled them up and down. However, after driving the car for a few days, the noise seems to have gone away on its own.
