So will MINI be refreshing their cars every 3 years from now on? I'd guess approximating the look of the 2024 Chinese SE was the reason for this facelift of the gen-3 MINI Cooper.

Chinese SE, Chinese SE, Chinese SE. MINI! Don't have the UK and Chinese SEs share the same SE designation! Come up with a new one--even if it's CSE! People shouldn't have to always name the country of origin to be unambiguous when discussing products from the same company.

Would 2024 SE be ambiguous? We already specify 20/21 vs 22/23 and as far as I'm aware there is no non-china 2024 SE

The Tesla Made In China (MIC) Model 3 and Model Y are top notch compared to Fremont and Berlin apparently.

I guess that makes sense. I'll stop complaining about MINI extending the wonderful 2020-2023 SE's appelation to lend credibility to the Chinese SE.

Keeping the SE designation won't bother me as much if the Chinese SE, er, 2024 SE, is an improvement that weighs less and handles better than my SE (my non-negotiable criteria). From what I've seen, I don't think it will look better (even if, like my SE, it doesn't have a fake hood scoop).

Like BMWI 3 from 2014 was 2600 lbs with 60 amh battery next two years 94 amh and 120 amh battery beef up to 3200 lbs like Mini SE weight but BMW was carbon fiber build . How they can make lighter smaller and bigger inside adding range with steel body heavier 5times than carbon fiber design . That’s why BMW I 3 base is $45000 and SE $30000 are they magician?
