First-Time EV Owner

Hey, everyone. First-time EV owner checking in. I recently picked up a 2014 RAV4 EV. It's been great so far! I've been wondering a few things:

-How do other drivers use the B setting?
-I heard you can pre-cool the RAV when it's plugged into a charger. How do I make that happen?

I think B mode increases the strength of the regenerative braking, so it might be useful in situations where you need to brake a lot. City driving, as opposed to highway driving.

From what I understand, it needs to be plugged into a level 2 home charging station (EVSE) to work. It won't work if plugged into a 110V socket.

That's been my experience with the B Mode. I've been wondering why people don't just drive in B mode in general and why there's really even a D ... you can shift into neutral if you want to coast, and even D seems to have some regen according to the gauges. I've also shifted into B while using cruise control (when I notice traffic slowing).
