2022 Paint Protection Film

The clear bra on the first 12" of my 07 sedan with 125K miles shrunk a bit and was an eyesore. I spent a solid 10 hours with a 3M wheel, steamer I bought from harbor freight, heat gun, power washer, goo gone, WD-40, plastic scraper, and then cleaner polish to get the damn thing off.

I now understand why shops charge a few hundred bucks to remove the stuff.

The car has not seen car washes, and the only micro swirls in the paint on the car are that section of the hood. I may have the guys i am friendly with at a body shop I occasionally use give the hood a proper polishing.

I went straight from dealer to a detailer I found locally for ceramic, ppf, and tinting. All together was $1860. That was way cheaper than another detailer I got quotes from and both are very reputable. $1071 for xpel clear bra Ppf included bumper, headlights, mirrors, partial fenders and partial hood. $441 for Ceramic pro was 2 layer with 2 year approx lifetime. $350 for tinting all windows with xpel prime cs black tint. I've never tried ceramic or ppf so very excited to try them out and protect my Mini from the start.
