More Subaru Solterra images teased out

If it wasn't pretty obvious that the Subaru Solterra was a Toyota BZ4X by another name, then new images should do the trick to convince you. The pics in question showed up on the Subaru website and show the profile of the vehicle (though upside down inside a water droplet - pic below), a shot of one of the front headlight assembly and an interior shot at night.

I've enhanced the water droplet shot with Photoshop, inverted, and cropped it so you can get a better look.

Opinions? I think this may look slightly better than the Toyota and wonder what, if any, other differences there will be.

I think it is more of a CUV crossover type vehicle, and that back side seems to be the popular style these days across many brands. What I am looking for is high clearance for off-road capability similar to the Crosstrek which I own now.
 
Japan reveal...

I like it, better looking front end than the Toyota version, some resemblance to the Mach-E. Glad to see them emphasizing the off-road chops which targets the EV gap in that market niche. The under centre console storage is similar to my Kona EV, which I really like and found very useful and handy (almost too much based on all the junk stored there).

I was taken aback when I first looked at those front fenders. But it could grow on me, and I think signals that it is not just another city EV. And preserves Subaru's reputation about being a little different.

Notice the 2 charge ports , AC on the right side and DC on the left (CHAdeMO), hope this will change for the N.A. market .
Good ground clearance @8.2", heat pump system equipped and the AWD version range actually beats our FWD Kona EVs :)

I watched the NA reveal from the LA auto show today. Go to min 27 if you want to skip the green virtue marketing.

I like the looks of it, and glad to see Subaru emphasizing the off-road chops, incl the 8.3 inches clearance. But a little disappointed in the battery and charging system tech. Not 800V and super fast charging like the newest Hyundai/Kia BEVs. Basically the same as my now "old" Kona EV, incl range.

I think Subaru/Toyota were playing it "safe" with this first BEV. Nothing great about the specs other than it should be good for mild off roading similar to the other Subaru SUVs. I see that like the Ioniq 5, it also doesn't have a rear window wiper.
 
I like the exterior, but don't like the "Toyota" interior. That little dashboard just behind/above the steering wheel is downright weird. Centre under console storage area is good. But no glove box??
