Be careful when you get your oil changed!

Call me skeptical but something's off. I don't see how that steel plate in TNGJ's post would fit the Clarity...mount holes in different locations, shape different, original is flat but the one in his photo has been shaped several times by a metal brake (or is molded plastic)...and he says there's hole for oil change, but I don't see any such access holes in the correct locations for where Clarity has filter and drain plug located. I'm speculating that plate pictured is designed for a completely different car, or the Clarity it is installed on has other modifications to accept it. Maybe I'm wrong. Would be interested to see that mounted on the car.

I agree with you... It is also odd that @TNGJ has been MIA since posting this, while others are asking questions...

I tried to make this look right, and the best I can do by scaling, measuring, etc, is something like this:

I thought [maybe] the new one overlaps the opening and uses other mounting holes. One or the other of the photos may not be straight-on causing some distortion, but... your comment on the bends are certainly valid. Even trying to scale the best I could, the holes I circled above just don't quite line up either. Maybe this is some sort of Fake News !! ??
