Thanks for reminding me. I just went out to my SE (last driven yesterday and turned off since then) and plugged my tire inflator into both the cabin and trunk 12-V outlets to return the tire pressures to spec.Good to know, I guess I need another plan for mine...
Probably stays on because they expect you to use that outlet for the tire inflator?
Did some testing and the trunk 12V outlet does turn off!
If the car is locked, it turns off after ~5min
If the car is left unlocked, it turns off after ~15min
@Mini Monster did your car happen to be plugged in? The behavior might be different when charging.
To add to the above, it also turns on whenever any door is opened.
Thanks! I thought I remembered my trunk outlet turning off after about 15 minutes, but was surprised the other day when it was powered up more than a day after I previously drove my SE. I'd opened the door to use the front outlet to reinflate my tires, and that must have turned on the outlets. To add to the above, it also turns on whenever any door is opened.
