I have a 220V outlet. Do I need a charging station?

I own a Volvo S90 PHEV here in Washington DC, and for the last few months I’ve been charging it on a 110V outlet. I now have a 220V outlet installed at my son’s request. He lives nearby and bought a Mustang Mach-E but can’t install a charger at his row house. Can I use this outlet and ply my S90 into it as ling as I get an appropriate adapter plug? Do I need a charging station?

Any advice appreciated!

You need a 220 volt charge station (EVSE, Electric Vehicle Supply Equipment). The EVSE is required for communication with the car. This communication indicates how much amperage the car can accept and when charging is complete and has safety protocols that start the charging session. Without an EVSE no charging will occur.
 
You can charge off of a 220v with the right cable. At least my C40 recharge can. But it would take a long time. But your hybrid battery isn’t as large so it might charge up over night
