"Nissan expects that the standard models (less equipped than the limited edition) will start in Japan at around 5 million yen ($45,392) after subsidies"

Geez, $45, 392 after subsidies is going to make it even more expensive in Canada. I had hoped to get an Ariya once it came out, but I think I've got a case of "wondering eyes" now.

Appears the trend of newer EV's continue to get more expensive with no regard to Canadian Federal rebate of $5000.... Nissan Ariya, Hyundai Ioniq 5, Kia EV6, Mustang Mach-E, Audi Q4 e-tron all most likely to be more than $45,000 Canadian.

limits the market when new models not getting more affordable

From what I have read*, Japan's prices are about 5 grand higher than anywhere else. The expected starting price (before tax credits) is expected to be around US $40,000.00

(only one of several links that I have read that show this price)

However, with the delayed release date, https://www.greencarreports.com/new...a-ev-us-arrival-will-be-delayed-to-early-2022 , the price could go either way.
