I'll clarify the above while taking the emotion out.
What Recoil45 in post 19 above about possibly invalidating the warranty and insurance policy is not true.
Warranty would still generally remain in effect. For example if your turn signal stalk broke and you make a warranty claim, no way is Ford going to try to blame it on towing with the vehicle.
On the other hand if an electric drive motor fails and the dealer notices your tow hitch, it's certainly possible they will try to blame it on the vehicle being used to tow. Sure, you could sue them, but how much will that cost you, and in the end, will you prevail in the suit? What are you going to do if they have a Ford engineer testify in his/her opinion the failure was due to towing? And how are you going to explain to the judge why you willfully ignored the owner's manual? I would not be so confident about winning such a suit.
As for liability insurance, it generally covers your negligence. But what happens if you are towing and crash into someone because of the increased braking distances when towing a trailer, and you seriously maim a person or two? A smart Plaintiff's attorney will introduce the fact that you recklessly ignored the owner's manual. How much liability insurance do you carry?
Not saying don't tow with your Mach-E. Just have your eyes wide open as to the risks.
