Apologies for bumping a 8 month old thread. But, I do have some information that, I think, is better to bump a On Topic thread, rather than start a new thread.
If you're wildly enthusiastic about the the Nissan Ariya...
For sure, the Ariya has my vote. Can't wait to test drive one.
I've owned 6 Datsun/Nissan vehicles, 2 Honda, and 2 Toyota. I went to Honda/Toyota because Nissan started putting out crappy vehicles that were ugly...
I know what you mean. Until last may, and since 2005, have been Toyota. Though, I did have a '97 Saturn SC2, which was a pretty nice car.
My current vehicle is a (gasp) 2020 Chevy Bolt Premiere EV that I bought on May 26th. While the ride can be a bit choppy, and the front seats are the most UNCOMFORTABLE seats of any vehicle that I have owned (though, this was finally fixed in the 2022 (maybe 2021 ?? ) , I do like the car. Especially, the Regenerative Braking Paddle (by shifting into L, it becomes a 1-pedal operation car (if needed, can still use the friction brakes); though, it seems, I loose mi/kWh).
I believe the Bolt EUV, along with the refreshed Bolt EV, will be out next summer (2021).
Yep. The Launch version is already out. But, like the Bolt EV, the Bolt EUV prices are in the mid 40s.
But, the regular models' should start out at around $38K.
Sadly though, the interior looks cheap. Also, using the Bolt EV platform, I'm not too crazy about that because the Bolt EUV is more like a station wagon on steroids, rather than a SUV Crossover.
...The more options I have, the better
Yep. There's already 3 totally new EVs out (Bolt EUV, Ford Mach e, and the Volvo XC40 Recharge) that I know about.
And, at least another half dozen are expected out by the end of 2022. Plus another dozen by 2025.
So, for sure, EVs are growing in popularity.
But, with the semiconductor shortage, it could cause delays. Just like the Ariya getting delayed until early 2022 (see
https://www.greencarreports.com/new...a-ev-us-arrival-will-be-delayed-to-early-2022 ).
