Delivery Stories

Papers signed last night, again Seattle Mini seems to be setting the bar for best experience I've had buying a new car. Was chatting with my sales guy and I was telling him how some people haven't been provided with the PDF of the order guide like he did for me. He was disappointed in that news as it was a comprehensive guide that anyone could understand, but he figured some older dealers wouldn't want to empower their customers with knowledge for whatever reason. If you are in Washington and are in search of a Mini Electric, go see Seattle Mini on Lake City. Ask for Devin.

Car should be offloading on either Thursday or Friday depending on how long it takes the driver to deliver @TittaPDX 's mini in Portland, he will shoot me pictures of the unload. It will go through the wakeup procedure (which I learned yesterday is a Factory mandated full charge of the battery and hold test, not continuous joyrides as we suspected *grin*) tint install, and a detail and should be ready early/mid next week. Told him I was fine waiting a few more days if I have waited this long :)
According to mygarage.miniusa.com, my vehicle has arrived at the dealership.

Maybe the driver just 'accidently' marked all the cars on his rig as 'delivered' and that's why mine shows as such too :)

Congrats!

My dealer guy just messaged me it arrived at the dealer early this morning before he was there so he couldn't get any shots of unload, but they are pulling the shipping wrap off now and will send some pics after.
Awesome!

Hi, all. Due to a personal issue on his end, I received the purchase proposal about an hour ago (after initial call Monday). I'm confused and wanted to check in here with you recent buyers to see if this makes sense before I follow up with him.

Selling price is $38,250 (iconic trim + $500 Lounge Leather seats + $850 destination/handling). Lines below that include:
  • $699 - Perma Plate 7 year warranty optional - not sure what this is
  • $995 - Dealer Prep Star Guard - don't know what this is
Total Purchase = $39,944.
Lines below that:
  • Processing Fee: $115
  • Tax (estimated): $191.25
  • Reg Fees: $677
  • New Warranty 7yr/75k: $4,600 (extended warranty (on top of the other warranty?) ) - anyone doing this?
  • Gap: $795
  • Clearmask: $1295
Total = $47,617.25

Obviously, processing/tax (I think they charge a 0.5% sales tax although Oregon doesn't have sales tax)/registration fees are necessary. Is Clearmask at $1295 worth it? Does anyone know what Dealer Prep Star Guard is? The rest seem unnecessary?
