Delivery Stories

Well, well, well...

I was out today and physically stopped by the dealership to see if there was any info. Last communication I had was on 8/16 when I asked to confirm that my build approval had been received a few weeks prior as I hadn't heard anything - and I was told it was received and submitted.

Lo and behold...my current status is "At the Port". So I now have my Production #, as well as my VIN. Looks as though it entered "at port" status on 9/10.

Underpromise...overdeliver, I suppose? I am very happy to know it's moving right along...
Nice, kinda crappy they weren't more proactive, but congrats none-the-less!

Gotta love Mini of Portland. I bet we’re all coming over on the same boat!

Ha, sorry you guys are way ahead of me on the boat comment. I didn’t see the next page.

I'm also in Portland so it will be great to see more SE's on the streets! I've had mine officially for one week now. I've noticed lots of people trying to catch up to me to get a closer look :-) Driving this car makes you realize how dumb gasoline cars are.

Color? Are you getting a vanity plate? I'm in south Beaverton, work downtown Portland so perhaps we'll pass each other someday.

Oh, do you know how long it took for you to go from "In Transit" until you could pick it up? I think I read it might take 28 days due to going through the Canal?

I have a Signature model in White Silver w/ energetic yellow accents. I deliberated about the vanity plate long and hard but decided against it. Let me know if you want any of my ideas. I did go with the Duck plate however! I think it will complement my color scheme nicely :-) I was told by the dealer that vanity plates were taking a really long time. The wait time could easily exceed the 90 day temp. registration, then it gets messy. I'm in NE Portland btw.

I was told about 30 days +/- once it was on the boat. It was pretty accurate, maybe a few days less. Our ship was hanging around the canal for a few days I seem to recall. You're in the home stretch!

I think we need a vanity plate thread for people (me) to show off and for others to field good candidates for vanity plates.

Sure, throw 'em at me. I've never had vanity plates but might go for it this time around.
